Exhaust muffler modulator Mod on a 2017 S with AMG package

As you can see from the picture my car has Vacuum actuated flaps on either side of the mufflers. I'm thinking maybe 2017 was the only year benz did this setup that was vacuum actuated as the 2018's and up had a valvetronic solenoid system that was electrically controlled. So my simple question is this, does anyone who has a 2017 vacuum operated exhaust valve system simple disconnected the vacuum lines and plugged them off with bolts or golf tees and had more exhaust sound? From my research I believe when there is no vacuum applied to these valves they remain in the open position, therefore if the lines were disconnected they should be open all the time. I would not think there would be a risk of any codes being thrown as the vacuum lines will be plugged off. This could be a easy mod for me to get a little more sound out of the exhaust. I don't believe the Renntech EVM mod would work on my car as the car has to be a 2018 on up, but this mode would be easy and not cost anything. Hopefully someone here has either a S63 or a S550 model year 2017 and done this. My car is S550 and reason I'm asking on this forum is I figure my chances of getting someone who has experience with this is better here, should be the same valves on the S63 and S550 with Sport package I'd think.

Still have not pulled a vacuum line off yet, I know it sounds simple but not so simple for me to get down to the floor as I use a wheelchair. Gonna have a friend over next week and pull off a vacuum line and hook up my vacuum gauge to the line and see what it reads idling in comfort mode. If it pulls vacuum it then means that in a no vacuum state the valves are open in which case we will pull both lines from the valves and plug them and my car should then be a little more loud at all RPMS which is what I'm looking to do.

I have a 2017 S63 Just replaced my SL63 & I know what you mean about the sound. what you can do is drive it in sport mode, It definitely sounds better. My SL63 sounded way better even after warm up. I am also looking for a solution. Did you try the vacuum lines ?????? curious how that worked.

no really didn’t do much of anything so I put them back. Like you said in sport mode it’s really not too bad when I get in it.
