The passanger side dash pad is lifting on my 2015 S63 from its backing near the windshield. I have Mercedes CPO but this is not a listed item as a covered item. Can someone check if there is a service bulletin regarding this issue. Thanks
I saw this happening on a 2017 S63 cabrio for sale at a dealer. They are waiting for a replacement dashboard assembly to be made and shipped from Germany, as the leather top pad is not sold separately. All components have to be swapped from your old dash housing into the new one.
The same thing happened to my wife’s Audi Q8, leather delaminated around the defroster vent opening. Took 5 weeks to get dash assy from Germany and 2-4 weeks to install. All covered under warrantee or would have cost a fortune.
That would be up to the service manager at your dealer, and better hope you have a great relationship with them. At best it would have to be a goodwill gesture, but a job that labor and cost intensive I rather doubt will be covered. Does yours look like the picture I posted? If so that’s total dash shell replacement in their book.
If it were me, I’d hop on Yelp and find a couple high end auto upholstery shops with excellent reviews and have them look at it to see if they can help.
Same thing happened to my 2013 GL with the designo leather. Dealer would not cover it under CPO. Had to live with it for a while and it kept getting worse over time. Eventually found a replacement at a salvage yard for $200. Installed it myself and looks like new again.
Mine is not as bad as above its in the early stage, but it is annoying to look at especially for a car with a sticker of $165+, I'll see what me service advisor says on the next service.
