S-63 AMS 2014
Low coolent but no leaking
My S-63 2014, gives me a warning message (Check coolant level) Saw I checked it and refilled it. I went out again and the same message came back temperature raised to 120°. I checked if there where leaks. But surprisingly there wasn’t ! I’m afraid something is wrong with the head. Any one experienced the same thing? Could it be a simple repair job?

I cant remember if you will get a different message, however there are two reservoirs on you car. I believe one is the main one for the engine, and there is a small reservoir under the engine cover. The small one I believe is for the air to water intercooler. Have you checked the smaller one. Just a thought.

Any white smoke coming out from exhaust after it’s warm? White smoke during driving? Take a peek at your oil also for any signs of coolant being mixed in. If everything checks out, that’s a good sign, it’s possible there’s a small leak at a hose that’s dripping onto the belly pan or elsewhere in the engine bay and evaporating before it actually pools and hits the floor for you to see.
I would top off the coolant and just monitor it without too much worry. It’s strange but I’ve had the same experience with other cars where the coolant just vanishes with no signs of a leak, gasket or head damage.

If no leaking then the coolant is being consumed internally and filling up the engine oil pan or going out the tailpipe.
Or filling up the transmission oil pan in the case of a failed transmission oil cooler.
Do a cooling system pressure test and report back. Check the engine oil dipstick. Check under the engine oil fill cap for chocolate milk sludge.
