New to me S63
Hello fellow S63 heads!
I have a facelift 2018 Magnetite Black fully loaded S63 turning up next week.
I like to leave my cars pretty standard but have been looking for like a ‘tips and tricks’ section re these cars.
Can you chime in with features and things that are cool but might not be obvious. Plus, are there any ‘must’ type mods etc?

MBWorld Fanatic!
I would not do anything other than maint items like tires and brakes. 4 year old car so it may need a new battery as well. These cars are perfect as is, and most mods do not do much to help and can devalue the car depending on what you do.

Welcome HeadNZ,
I have '16 S63V4 (black as well!), and I also did ppf and ceramic (glass + non-ppf'd paint). Thicker ppf on headlights (very expensive to replace if stone-damaged).
Good first step joining MBWorld! You can also register at M-B AMG (www.mercedes-amg.com) Private Lounge.
My mods include:
1) Hard-wired Valentine 1 radar/laser detector w/ custom mount just under inside rear-view mirror (I inherited lead foot from Dad; vehicle is excellent briskly-driven, long-distance cruiser!);
2) Lowering module (www.loweringmodule.com; SKU: W222NGLM), professionally installed, can be controlled from steering wheel controls (markedly improves appearance + lowers center-of-gravity/roll center);
3) Dashcams, Front+rear (Blackvue DR900X-2CH Plus), also hard-wired/professionally installed w/ it's own back-up battery (self-explanatory, in case of accident/vandalism);
4) Rear spoiler: I opted with larger/longer Lorinser unit (more pronounced than others, but tasteful + visually lengthens vehicle appearance), painted body color + professionally installed (purely visual);
5) Secondary hidden vehicle tracking module w/ it's own battery (good companies include SkyLINK Spireon, Guidepoint), dealer-installed at purchase (in case factory-installed unit disabled), may be used by police, locates car much quicker than Mercedes Me app and works even if stored in garage/enclosure...
6) Window tints sides/rear w/ folding custom from sunshield for when vehicle needs to parked outdoors (helps keep car cooler + prying eyes from seeing inside contents, looks good too!);
No other mods + I've been very happy with the above. Plan on keeping it long-term, until just before extended warranty(s) expire (150K miles).
As you know there are no limits to the performance/appearance mods you can do; check with your insurance company to make sure these will be covered/reimbursed in case of accident/theft.
Look into discounted extended bumper-to-bumper warranty + pre-paid maintenance plans via your dealer; complex vehicle + parts/labor fall into "pay to play" category. I've already used mine...
Finally, read you Owner's Manual (printed out + bound mine from online download: 600 pages! Good reference (in addition to YouTube informational videos). Lots of bells + whistles o this well-thought-out vehicle!
Depending on road conditions, driving preferences + luck, it seems many fellow owners are having to do rock damage-induced windshield replacements...
Good luck!
Enjoy + cheers!
Alex
