Cost to replace an Ignition Coil

Hi
I'm wondering how long it takes to replace a single ignition coil on a 2018 S63?
The reason behind the question is that from reading online sites it appear to be a fairly straight forward task but I was recently quoted ~$1600 by a Mercedes dealer (thought his also included a $300 diagnostic fee).
Still - $1300 which they also equated to between 3 and 4 hours seems like a lot for something that's other places referred to as "simple".
BTW - They also charged almost $300 for the ignition coil even though the price on Mercedes official part store had it at $240. Is this normal practice that Mercedes Service charge one higher than if you buy things yourself?

How many miles are on the car? I am finding the coils for around $190 bucks for an OEM replacement. I think it depends on where it is, the front ones look pretty easy while the rears could be a challenge. I would do it myself for that much money.

The car has 36K miles and the ignition coil that was bad was number 7. Not sure whether that’s front or back..

That is really low mileage for a bad coil. I would guess #7 is the rear one, not sure on the side though. These coils are twins so one coil covers 2 cylinders. I would ask the dealer for some goodwill on this one if it is not something you want to do yourself.

I wouldn't do this my self. I was mostly wondering whether it really would take a certified Mercedes mechanics ~ 3-4 hours to replace?

I just looked at my motor and I guess if it is on the passenger side it could be pretty spendy as it looks like a lot of stuff has to come off to access the two injectors. On the drivers side you can literally see them in plain site and it is a few bolts and plugs that need to be removed and disconnected.
