More new stuff.

Picked up some goodies from Weistec Engineering. A billet oil filter cap in black (they are out of stock for now, however are being produced currently). The 722.9 oil pan did come in. Currently not installed. It's almost time for the next transmission service and will have my local Mercedes Dealer install it at that time, since the factory pan will be removed for the service. Quality seems spot on, and it feels heavy duty. The added benefits of the pan seem well thought out and made to perform. With the added baffling, cooling fins, the extra depth for more fluid (2.5Qts), and the drain and refill tube plugs. Are all wonderful features. I won't be using the ports for an added oil cooler. Will try and post pictures after the install. However, the transmission fluid level has to be set by temperature. No dipstick anymore with these newer cars. Most cars are this way. I work for Lexus and we have to set the transmission fluid level by temperature also. Although different models have different target temperatures to set the level to full. However, at Lexus they have a drain plug and an overflow tube to set level. We rarely if never replace filters. Just a drain and refill. Some techs don't even set the level with the target temperature. Just for your information.

Last item came in today. A black billet oil filter cap. Very nice piece. I work for Lexus repairing there cars. I have seen some of the plastic oil filter caps break. So I figured why not get this for the Benz. Oil pan is being installed at my local Mercedes dealer. April 19th. Cant wait.

Pan is installed. Love it. Fit and finish are perfect. No leaks. According to the gauge. It looks like the transmission fluid temperature is running 25- 50 degrees cooler. Most likely due to the added fluid capacity. I asked for all my OEM parts back. Vehicle is running absolutely perfect. I removed the undercarriage cover to take the pictures of the pan, installed.

Using the stock AMG gauges. Most of the time I drive around with the AMG gauges. So, I have somewhat of an idea where the temperatures were before the pan. If that makes sense.

Yes makes total sense. I also ride with the AMG gauges 100% of the time.
