Agreed, also think they should have been standard on both cars. $9k is a lot of money to add as an option, but they could have probably only need to add $4K to MSRP by making them standard. And they would have seperated the cars from the competition even more.
When I began shopping for a used S-Class a couple years ago it was baffling that the majority of 2-5 year old cars came few options. I wanted a well optioned used car. But the fact that resale and residual is based on MSRP without all the options means those options are super expensive if you only plan to own the car for 2-4 years. I came to realize that's the reason, which I totally understand.

Nickel in a bet says most cars with CCB were ordered with them by someone who wanted all the toys.

Cars that showed up at the dealer as part of the allocation arrived with iron brakes.
