Question New S63 issues/reliability question,

Hello everyone, I am pondering on buying a 2023 S63 W223. What makes me worried though are the many reports of various rattles, electrical problems, sudden braking of the non AMG S Classes (have not found any such reports yet concerning the S63, hence my post here) among other such issues. I would appreciate it if S63 owners can chime in and let me know if my fears are legitimate.

I am actually pondering on getting either the S63 or the Bentley Flying Spur, but the S63 is what I mostly resonate with. However, build quality is very important because getting such a luxurious car and having to deal with the aforementioned issues would be very unfortunate.

Thank you so much for any help and guidance provided.

2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
Neither will give you Toyota reliability and will probably have a problem or two. I would bet the S63 will actually be more reliable than the Bentley and the service network will be more robust. I have a 2019 S63 that has been pretty much flawless except for an issue with a rear radar sensor that caused the infamous random braking. In the 38K miles I have driven it I have done a set of tires and brake pads for a total of around $1800 bucks. I purchased mine when it was around 2 years old and had around 9K miles on it. Personally I would never spend over 200K on a massively depreciating asset as I tend to keep my cars for several years, plus I do not like the looks and aesthetics of the W223 chassis. I think the W222 was probably the last true, non electric S class that we will see.

I've owned my 2018 S63 for just one year. I had a minor squeak from the suspension that lasted a few days then went away just as quickly. 100% trouble free at $45K miles.
As far as squeaks and rattles, I admit there might be more than in some other luxury brands. But not more than other cars. Problem is the car does such a great job of isolating outside noise that anything in the interior seems magnified. I could get into an "audiophile" discussion about it, but that could get weird. Main thing to consider is that when things are really quiet, even low volume noises seem loud.

Find a low mileage clean Carfax W222 S63 with CPO and save yourself a lot of trouble with first year releases.

There was no W223 S63 in 2023 in the USA. 2024 is the first year, we ARE on the first year of the model.
