Checking engine Oil Level

Checking engine Oil Level
When checking the engine oil level via the onboard computer, the manual states:
Checking the engine oil level using the on board computer Requirements: The engine has warmed up. The vehicle is parked on a level surface. The engine is running at idle speed.
This goes against everything I have learned.

Against everything you learned? Did you learn how to measure oil level on the basis of the capacitance of the engine oil? The oil has to flow through the condensers. Ain't no dipstick or float switch. The capacitance of the entire volume of oil changes based on the fill level. The oil doesn't have to collect in the oil pan to measure the fill level as is required with the traditional dipstick approach.
I'm not an expert in this stuff, but below is some info I found. There are different types of sensors that can be used to measure oil level. BTW, as you can see it doesn't just measure oil level, but also oil quality as in how much the oil is contaminated.
