Annoying coolant leak solved.
Car asks for coolant every three months. Some searching reveals this stained mess.
Overview once exposed.
No need to remove the charge cooler.
Sharpie and a glove keeps coolant from peeing all over.
New and old. Stainless pipe the O-Ring lives on looks as new at sealing surface.
The stainless pipe didn’t want to go back in with the fresh O-Ring installed. Talked to her real nice and everything. Took a bit of carefully applied leverage and time with the pipe pointed straight down.
Were I to do it again I’d have had a set of spark plugs ready to go as she is due for them again.
All coils come out. O2 sensor comes out. Rear half of heat shield comes out.
Once again glad to be dealing with how MB does things such that everything doesn’t just break upon touching it as we see with virtually all others.
Nothing broken. No drama. Just a little flesh lost in the process, but no blood.
I’ll call it a few hours well spent with my mistress.
