Another Dash Peel

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Can't find anyone who will touch it except the dealer and the number to repair/replace the dash is outrageous. There's got to be some solution out there somewhere

There are several videos online where people have completely removed the dasboard and replaced with a used dash. It took around 5 hours for someone with mechanical skills and tool but no prior expreince. Another guyh on the forum was quoted $5K froim their dealer for a complete replacement, which sound super expensive but reasonable. Not sure what the parts cost was from that quote.
I have an 18 S63 sedan and I'm getting a little curling, but like yours, it isn't noticable from the cabin. I'll probably try to fix it myself if it gets worse. It hasn't gotten noticable worse over the last 2 1/2 years.

I suppose the solution depends on one's definition of "outrageous." I have had the designo semi analine leather dashes replaced in my R231 SL65 and the A217 S65 Cabriolet. The replacement of the SL65 is a lot of work because of all the components mounted in or penetrating through the dash. The estimate was about $8,500. Fortunately the dealer generously comped the entire cost.
The A217 S65 is far simpler and the new dash was $4,000 installed at the dealer. In my AMG world, that is a bargain for an entirely new dash. The W222 dash is almost identical to the A217 so I would expect a similar price.

Update: Every shop I've been to say the same thing.......will need to replace the dashboard. On line search shows part # 222-680-42-87-xxx, with xxx depicts color code. My vehicle has trim code 561 Exclusive Black Leather. Would 9E38 be the proper color code? TIA.
