Friend saved by handling with blown tire
A friend, driving her husband's CLK coupe, had a tire blow on the interstate at 75MPH two days ago. She reports that, miraculously, while a tremendous struggle-including coming within inches of the center barrier wall, she was able to bring the car to a safe stop. By then, the tire was shredded.
She had been thinking of a new Jaguar X-type to replace the C320 she recently sold. No more, it will be another C320 for safety's sake!!!

Whew!
During todays morning commute a Porsche 944 ahead of me kicked up a large peice of metal road debris. I was boxed on both sides and unable to make a gross swerve. A small left to right to left was only avoidance option-the quick responsive steering and tied down handling of my MB came thru and a possible chunk thru the windscreen was avoided. Whatever faults the marque may have are certainly not in the handling and safety catagory.
