just kind of funny . . .
back in about 1980, my dad was drivin a 560 SEL. He was late for some lecture at the college. He was going about 70 on some old country road, in icy conditions, really pushin the car. He hit some giant obstacle on the road ( he wasnt that good of a driver, just came to the US from India the same year) and the car literally flew. Must have been about 2 feet in the air, according to him. He was scared, and closed his eyes, waiting for the fall. He opened his eyes 5 seconds later, to realize that he was on the ground, and nothing had happened. The car was so smooth and had the air cushion, so the shock was totally absorbed. One of the joys about having a Mercedes. We sold that car in 97, and bought a 97 S320. It is a nice car also, has about 120k on it and still runs like a dream. We bought a E320 last month, and i am in love with that car. it is a beatiful sight.
