best location for baby seat?
the other day i almost got hit from the side...lady ran a red light and luckily i saw her in time...the side where my little girl rides in her car seat.
does anybody know...
am i better off using the latch system on the outboard side of the rear seats or using the 3 point belt system in the center seat in the back…what is the safest setup?
any input is appreciated!!!
thanks,
john

With just one child, I use the middle. Even if you couldn't use LATCH, the seatbelt works very well and you can get it just as snug as using LATCH.
We have another on the way, so we'll be making an adjustment at that time.

Yeah. The middle seat is always gonna be the best place for a car seat. that way, no matter what side you are hit (hope you never get hit btw) some of the energy will be absorbed before reaching the center seat.

CUTE!!!
I'm glad it was just a close call!
Before we had our second, I always placed ours in the middle of the seat. I had latch, but I would of done it even without it. Now that we have two I don't have that option and two is a tight fit in the back of my C350.
You can get a device that can tighten (ratchet) up the belt so that it is VERY secure and won't move around at all. PM if you want the name of it. Both our cars are now latched equipped so we're not using it anymore but it's around here somewhere. I'll gladly locate it and send you the name and a picture of it.

LATCH works fine in center. Just use inboard right and inboard left connectors. There are three top connectors, including one in the center.

I prefer center IF and ONLY IF you can secure it properly with no side to side play. IF not, then the 2nd choice is passenger side so the driver seat can be adjusted with no limitations and the child enters/leaves on the curb side.
I currently have mine on the rear passenger side since there is too much play in the center seat.
