Q re RenTech and a 63S

I built and ordered a GT63 BUT not the S model. The reason was that I liked the red bake calipers better than yellow and the dealer told me I could just add the RT chip to the 63 and the performance would be better than the 63S.

If you RT a 63 or a 63S is the end result the exact same performance wise? The dealer made it sound like the RT chip merely replaced the Mercedes “S” chip and this whether you started with a standard 63 or 63S the end performance wise as the same.

Thank you.

Hardware wise, both cars being the same, a tuned regular GT or GTS should yield the same horsepower. I did this on my AMG GT, raced in the 1/2 mile and had comparable trap speed with GTS or GTR.

Thanks!

To add I spoke with RennTech and they confirmed this. Net result is the same performance whether you start with a 63 or a 63S for the AMG GT 4 door coupe. They said this is. It the case for all models though.
