2024: What's happening?

My dealer says production for the GT43/53 has shutdown for 2023, but no information has been released for 2024 - at least not for the US. Interestingly, the Mercedes US website still only has 2022 information for the GT 4 door....it was never even updated for 2023.

I've heard some rumors that these cars are being discontinued in the US for 2024...last year I don't remember production shutting down at this time...they just rolled directly from 22 to 23.

Anyone have inside info?

This article only mentions the European spec cars. I’m suspicious that we may not see the same in the US. I do believe the following will happen:

1 price hike. The gt43 will probably start at 99k
2. They will throttle production. It won’t be easy to get one as in the past.

I understand the C257 CLS is being discontinued but the GT4D will likely survive for a couple of years.

I think only the 63 and up will be limited. The lower models shouldn't be hard to get.

i can see I’m not getting thru. I’ll be more blunt. The world is going to hell in a hand basket - and our beloved hobby is high on the attack list. The MB lineup will be dramatically scaled back in the next couple years as our favorites are killed off. Eventually nothing will remain except a small line of EVs with only a few ICE models that will be $150-200k or more. But don’t make the mistake of thinking you have two years. Other manufacturers are already throttling production of performance cars and MB will be no different

Yeah, the V8 package has never been available here but always has been in Europe....I doubt we will be getting that here.

My dealership got a handful of 63 and 63 S allocations, my 63 S being one of them. They currently have a waiting list for 63 and 63 S and have not been able to get any more allocations. Maybe done for the 2023 model year already?

Not sure I am following? I never said the 63 wasn't available here. I said the V8 appearance package on the 43/53 has never been available here (which makes the 43 and 53 look the exact same as the 63). The bumpers and side skirts on the 43/53 are all different than the 63 ones in the US.

Ya.... basically to look like a V8 despite not having one. I don't honestly get the point either.
