got a 2019 GT63 and just had my ignition coil failed causing very rough idle and not able to go over 40mph. Had it replaced along with a new spark plug but wondering if this is a common problem?
This is the 2nd time a coil pack failed (different cylinder pack and 1.5yrs ago-covered under warranty) but it would suck if any other fails while Im far away from home.
Has anyone else had this issue and decided to replace all their ignition coil packs?
No, but the harness that connects to the coil packs apparently begins to disintegrate due to the high amount of heat from the turbos. According to the foreman at MB. This is a known issue. MB USA covered $700 of the $1400 after a rather easy fight. Something to look into.
