Ok. Today, my mother brought her 03 E320 in for service, and got a loaner. The loaner was a 2005 C240 Sedan, black outside and inside. I love it, abosolutely love it and I wanna get it. I'm getting the car now. But, I just realized, because of my budjet of 20k, that only the 05 C-class's have that dash and console look inside. The 01-04 have a diff (UGLY!!!!!!) dash. Just realized by looking at older ones. Any way, in this world, that I can swap out the dash? But I still don't like the radio area in the older ones or anything. Life sucks

Dream ON, for 20k you could be in a Mazda like me and dreaming back to when you drove the benz. And by the way, the 01 dash is what SOLD me on my late BENZ, THANKYOU very MUCH.

I think I can, but well see. I want a V6, so no, not getting a 230. 280 is V6 also? The C240 has good power when I drove it and sounds real nice. I love the manumatic, omg wow lovin that. I wanna get black on black.

05's are definitely much nicer. if it wasn't for the updated interior and amg bodykit, i would've overlooked the C-class all together. i'm coming from a bmw 330 coupe so all the current C's felt sluggish to me, with the exception of the C55, but i have the 6spd manual and my only complaint so far on this car is first gear being too short. power over the automatic is like night and day however, shifting is like butter (except for third gear for some reason) and i have to say the 230 overall is a very nice looking, fun car to drive with the added comfort. you should really take a look at the C230. defintely a better buy and well worth the money. i felt the price difference for the 320 over the 230 wasn't worth it for the small difference in power. if the 350 was available, i probably would have ended up with that. let us know what you decide

0-60 in 6.8 is not slow and the 05's would OWN your 01 240 anytime

Thanks on the opinions guys. I really appreciate it. I have looked at 230s, and read a review on the 230.
Somebody has to get pics of a 240 and a 230 to show me the diff. And the 230 is a L4, eh, but the supercharger...hmmm...changing the pulley would add hp. When I get it, all I am going to do is put rims, lowering springs, grill, Brabus badges (too fool my buds), and maybe exhaust. Help me out on mods, and prices. Thanks a lot.

Yea, also, the one I "borrowed" didn't have the Harmon Kardon, and omg, what a sweet radio. Great bass! I have a Durango with a sub, and it was almost as good. And I noticed the car had a sub in the trunk with a foam piece under it. What size is that, 10", does it have a sub? It's an 05 C240, only options were sunshade, and heated seats.

If nothing else, the AMG kit, Brembo big brake kit, sport suspension, 17" wheels, oval exhaust tip, and added horsepower make the 230 a better overall buy. No comparison, in my opinion.
