Ohh arite, by the way, real slick *** C230. I love it man. I'm goign t oend up with a 2001 C-Class most likely. I got used t oteh dash now that I've looked at 100+ of them. How much would a C230 AMG kit go for let's say if I didn't have it on a car I bought?

dont remember exactly how much, but when i was looking to get the AMG body kit a year ago, it was enough for me to not consider it anymore

No, only some of the 2004 and all the 2005's have the 1.8L.
you should browse ebaymotors.com. you will be surprised how much you can learn by looking at other peoples cars on there.

like Ctc230 says, you can check up ebay, tons of pics are there... supercharger is under the intake, it's pretty hard to take a shot unless you take out the intake cover

Hmmm, Narcissus I often see you say things about C230 users, do you really hate them ? do you realize that our car's engine will become history in a few months anyway, I don't think there is any point to fight about it, what do you think ? I think we should all cherish our cars and be nice to each other since we won't find those 1.8L or 2.6L engine anymore in a few months.

I dont understand what the facination is with most saying that the 2005 interior is superior to the 2001-2004. I dont really think its that much different or nicer, It basicly looks the same to me. Definitely not something to consider trading in a 2001-2004 for. Hopefully the new 2008 c-class will continue its attractive looks and design.

Just wanted to add a comment here, when comparing the C230 vs. the C240, The 240 sat a few inches higher, the C230 has a lower overall height to it, factory sport suspension. There are also overall height measurments in the C class booklet available at any dealership.
Personally, I love the 05 interior/exterior, its what sold me on it in the first place. It looks more like a younger kids car, not an older car. Personally, the way I felt about them, looking at the E class, I felt as though it were for old people. The C230 seemed much more "young". I liked the AMG styling with the larger wheels, brake kit, and body kit. I also liked the aluminum interior WAY better than the wood. The aluminum trim took you away from "luxery" and more to "sporty" IMO. I don't think that it shifts that hard, fairly smooth, unless you are in Sport mode(S vs C mode for the tranny), then shifting from 1st to 2nd is a little harsh around 6K RPM. Car has enough get up and go, still gets great gas milage (Im pulling 23-24 city, beating on it as much as I feel like). Im done ranting for right now.

Thanks ctC230K, real nice car you got there. How hard is it to remove the engine cover and replace it with the Brabus ones? Going to go take a look at my 03 E320 later to see how hard that is.

Exactly my thought, you should tell this to the ones bringing down the c240, maybe they should learn that 0-60 times is not what everyone is looking for, and as a matter of fact I had the 1.8 for 13 months but switched to the c240.

So back to my oringal point, I traded the c230 for a c240 cuz it was more refined and a lot more comfortable, I didn't, I repeat, I DIDN'T buy a friggin C240 because of it's SPEED, can you read this.. I Did NOT BuY ThIS CaR FoR IT's 0-60 TIMES, so next time you see someone else telling you they prefer the C240 over the C230, stop bringing in your stupid 0-60 times, WE DON'T FAWKIN CARE.

If I want a fast car, I will not buy a c240, not a c230 and not even a c320. Get it?

And I can make a video showing my C240 doing 0-60 in 7 seconds if I want, it's a lot more cost effective than modifying it and bringing it to a track to get a TT slip that shows 7 seconds. Videos don't count. I had the 1.8 c230 and there is no way in hell I would EVER have gotten 6.8, no change in hell... you're gonna tell me that a c230 coupe is as fast if not faster than a c320 coupe AND 2.3 c230k?

And I live in Canada, we're not known for scorching heat up here, and during summer days the car would not pull at all, **** I had to turn off AC when merging uphill on the highway next to my work. SC needs cold air and lots of it.




Ohh and btw... the E55 sucks cuz my gsxr1000 will smoke it..
And all the W203s suck cuz my neightbors 86 rustang smokes them

Actually I will have to you. Nothing in that vid shows anykind of time that you are claiming. All it shows is that tires can chirp. You will need to do better with your claim and then posting this kind of vid as supporting proof.

Stop this ranting about c240 vs c230!!!! the original post is about swapping clusters 01-04 vs 05. Our cars will all be obsolete in about two months how about that. all the new sixes will smoke ALL current comparable models for the same price. how about that. How do you like them apples.

I drove the c240 as a loaner, and it's an okay ride, I gotta say it has less power than mine, I reved that thing a lot higher to get where I wa going, but overall it wasn't a bad car. I did like the stock woofer behind the rear seats.

I believe the original post was about someone wanting to purchase the "Slow as hell" c240 .... We all know that the clusters/panels cannot be switched and are incompatible... unfornate for some, fortunate for others like me who believes the 01-04 interiors look more classy

Personally I think MB is making a mistake in getting rid of the 4 banger... and bringing in the B-class....

Let's all blame BMW for this
