Music Register
is there a way to transfer music to the hard drive?? the 08 c class i use to memory card and go to music register and it would give me the option to download the music.

must be a cd in the same format as the original. not mp3 and I don't think wma. If you ave the original music cd and rip. copy in t same format it will work.

so there is no way that you can format the mp3 songs to the format of the CD thats required. *** car is being gay! why the hell would they change it!

CDA is the music industry standard that the Register Reads
This is the standard the Register reads. I just input my music CD's from the 90's etc. into the CD player and burned them to the hard drive.
"Music CD tracks are displayed on computers in the Compact Disc Audio (CDA) file format. CDA is a shortened form of CD-DA, which stands for Compact Disc Digital Audio. When you place a music CD in your computer's disk drive, the Windows operating system reads the disc and creates a set of CDA files that can be viewed in the drive's folder. CDA files are denoted by ".cda" at the end of the file

I think you have to create audio CDs. Copy protection rights in North America prevent import of MP3 files from CD or USB. Basically, you have to make a music CDRW, copy files into the register, burn another CD, do the same etc.
Card to hard drive
If you update the Music Register from ripping to copy in the engineering menu, give it some time to take (5-10 mins). Then you can use the PCMCIA card to bring in mp3's. It worked on my '09 C63...
