I honestly would spend the extra 4k for the original one - since you mod - it's going to be more than 4k for the parts and install - from a "deal" stand point - the first one is the best from that perspective. . .besides, everyone knows that black AMG's are suppose to have red and YELLOW calipers

I just spoke with the owner of the car originally posted for sale in this thread. He said that he never received a call/offer on that car. He would be able to do $27.5 on it.
The car has had no paintwork according to him as well.
This is a shop that sells motorcycles primarily and he just picks up cars he likes from time to time. He's been a well respected member of the local car community in Chicago for a number of years now. Also works at some well respected shops. I think you should go take a look at this thing and try to get this done.

like i said i talked to the guy and he seemed light a straight shooter very nice guy and was cool to deal with. car was clean but from my last experiance with a modded and tuned car scared the crap out of me or else i might have pulled the trigger on it.

Hehe I am not even going to mod that much so no point of me spending. I don't need to have a faster car to prove I have a bigger dick. All I am planning is ECU/TCU and pulley and I am good. 4k extra would make sense if I wanted to make it in a lambo/ferrari killa or the CL600 Brabus

My 2cents> buy completely stock and do your mods. I know it doesnt mean because it is stock it has been messed with or beaten but chances are less.. A warranty is a must too!!

I would be more worried about performance mods.. You know if it has mods it was MOST likely beaten a bit or maybe even tracked or dragged.
Rims should be the least of the worries.

But my thought is if you mod your car as far as headers,pulley exhaust etc. You don't do these mods just because you do them to nail the pedel to the floor and drive it like you stole it. Yes you may do the maintance on it but im sure it has some abuse on it.
