I put the alternator back on so it can run. I've got the battery in my car atm. The parts store will charge it/rule out if its defective. Also going to take it to my dads mechanic who has Mercedes diagnostic. $47. And they will go in and figure out where the breakdown is.

Great thread! Just like a soap opera. But it could be a simple fix...
Scanning the car for codes is good BUT the codes will be mostly junk if the batteries are out of spec.
First clear the active codes by disconnecting both batteries.
Second, fully recharge both batteries. This will give you some time even if you have a charging system problem.
Third, start the car and measure alternator output as close as possible to the alternator (e.g. lug on backside of alternator). If much below 13.5V, the problem is either the voltage regulator, the diodes or the alternator itself.
Let us know what you find.

I spoke with the guy working behind the counter at the parts store and he said it is most likely the Voltage regulator on the Alternator. I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow to have the car diagnosed Wednesday.

Please take it to a professional shop who can do a full diagnosis with STAR to pull down every issue with the car. If your indy doesn't have STAR, then take it to the dealer to make sure it's done right. For the very little cost difference for a diagnosis, it's probably worth your while to let the dealer do it. Likely 1-2 hours in labor is all that is needed.

Google "mercedes mechanic portland". Pick up your phone. Call around and ask if any of them have a mercedes star/das diagnostic computer. Ask what a scan would cost. You can find one and not pay dealership prices. For less than the cost of a tow, I bet one of them will come to you, (offer to come prepay 80-100 bucks). Cumulative cost will be lower than moving the car anyway. https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?...&hsimp=yhs-002

Use the link below to find mechanics in your area specializing in Mercedes Benz cars. You can then call to find ones that have DAS/Xentry/Star diagnosis.

It's sorta like watching a deranged lunatic smear feces on a bathroom wall. Half of us know the guy is totally nuts. The other half thinks he's working on a Jackson Pollack mural and are really jazzed to see how it turns out.

That is actually a very good analogy. Well done maestro!

How do you prove what the lunatic is smearing on the wall is feces?

I just spent a while catching up on this thread. I don't even know what to say... But I really want you to see this through. I hope you get this done properly. From an outsider looking in...Get focused and stick to one problem at a time. Your all over the place. Forget the steering wheel and fridge. Figure out your charging system/electrical issues and then the body. Check the obvious first, ground straps, fuses, test relays. Have the car properly diagnosed like Dave and Mike have been telling you for the last 20 pages. They might be flip flopping and breaking your *****, but if they didn't give a sh*t, they would have abandoned you a long time ago, 20 pages ago. Anyone with deep pockets can play guess it games and just replace parts left and right, but you clearly don't have an unlimited budget, so work smart, not hard. Get the car diagnosed properly and fix these specifically pointed out problems before your left scratching your head and wondering why you exceeded your, "$1000", budget on electrical items you didn't need in the first place. There is a salvage yard owned by friends of mine close to me with 9 of these cars currently sitting if you need any parts, message me. I will try to help you.
