C63 downshift bark
Hi guys, I got a 2011 C63 had it for about 4 months now and just got a
Eurocharge tune V5 Blip.
Been playing around with bark on downshifts.
Now the 5th to 4th gear bark is great. I can be going steady at 100kms in 5th@2200rpm and downshift to 4th and there is a bark from the exhaust then 4th sits at about 3000rpm (nice and smooth gear shift).... I can then shift up to 5th again and then downshift again for another bark. I can get a bark from 5th-4th 90% of the time.
Trying to get a bark from (4th to 3rd) or (3rd to 2nd) requires alot more work.
In 4th gear I need to shift down to 3rd at atleast 3000rpm meaning it revs upto 4000rpm in 3rd which cause engine braking . ( its not a smooth downshift)
How do you guys get your bark?

The Weistec trans ecu tune is much more aggressive and blips every gear very aggressive even in comfort mode. It's all in the tune built for your car. Weistec's tune gives a nascar down shift even when it's auto shifting on its own regardless of speed being driven

As BLKROKT said, it squirs $h!tloads of gas into your cylinders during the downshift, which passes though unburnt and then ignites when it comes in contact with the hot exhaust manifold and/or glowing cats. While it may sound cool and in general isn't likely to damage the engine itself (at least not this particular kind of backfire - if it actually ingintes in the intake then you have a real problem), it is not too healthy for the exhaust itself.
I have actualy blown apart - as in it exploded with a huge bang and a ball of flame, sending shrapnel everywhere - one of the cats on my 928GT when running it a tad rich on the overrun (had just installed custom made camshafts and was tuning the car). The other cat was glowing so bright red that we ended up dousing the underside of the car with a fire extingusher just to make sure the car itself doesn't catch fire... but the flames coming out of the tailpies when you lifted off were absolutely spectacular.
