Thats actually a good way to think about it. the issue with SS is that even from a dig, they are racing further than 2640. 2 years ago i think they were caught racing for 2900, and just earlier this year they were going 2700. thats why the vbox always read 3mph-ish lower than their system.

A good reference is add 30 to your best 1/4 mile mph and that is your 1/2 mi mph

NA cars are 28-30, under 1000 rear wheel hp FI are 30-32, and above 1000hp it varies 30-40-50 depending actual vehicle

Has anyone compared it to the VERIFIED vbox speed?

It used to be the norm and generally accepted rule to post a vbox with any platform "record". However, all that went away once people just dealt with the fact it never read the same. Ive started quite a few fights on other forums asking for a vbox log of "World Records" and its always an excuse- vbox card didnt capture it, or it was "independently verified" etc. As far as I know, only Slipstream has actually been able to get the 2 readings to match to .25-.35 for runs.

This is surprisingly accurate. Thanks for that!

it was an educated guess I used for years before we actually knew for sure; once we bought the equipment to actually measure it all in 1 run, it validated it:

That's correct marine when guys say that the vbox recorded this or that speed etc, I always would want to see the verified file from vbx

Jeezus 146-148 mph. For me sounds kinda quick.

Lemme talk to my buddy and see what he trapped on his 9.7 run in the 1/4

This is interesting Thanks!

yup, its too easy with that website. we're actually working with the guy to integrate it into a database we have coming online shortly so that guys can submit it all at once to 1 place and then like dragtimes, post up/keep actual searchable records. our full list of 1/4 dig, 1/3 roll, 1/2mi dig, all vbox verified and visible

if your car suffers from heatsoak easily, it may be affected more so than others, but yeah that would be about right from other cars we had run. We'll know a lot more after July as its a bigger day and a more diverse line-up, but should be the accepted norm- just like .1 in the 60' is .2 in the 1/4. Its ricer math, but it works the same

Makes sense. Guys reading this thread can use it as a guide..

Not much heat soak. I wont run back to back because of that. The car has always been stock since I purchased almost a decade ago. But, I still ice down and keep IATs cool as possible to get the most out of my car.

I usually ice down and now I take a garden sprayer filled with ice water and mist down my supercharger and heat exchanger before and after some spirited roll runs with my friends. Ya, Im kinda nuts about this.

But, wow anything above 140-145 mph is impressive for a stock car.

Without aftermarket cooling or methanol/E85 to cool it, a 1/2 mile run will generate a lot of heat up top, easpecially with TVS/roots blowers, thats what i meant. Youre IATs are probably decent 130-140 for a 1/4 mi run, or even a highway run since you can keep airflow, but that last 1/2 mile will probably be 170-180* up top, pulling a decent amount of timing. Or run C16, that should help too

If you REALLY want to get performance, grab a 20lb bottle of nitrous and freeze your coolers before going ;0
