Multi Contour Seat Explosion
Any folks with multicontour seats ever experience a failure of the system resulting in a pop that sounds like a 20oz Coke Bottle exploding?
This happened to me a week ago and I thought a tire popped (it was that loud), and it sounded like it came from the rear driver side wheel well. After looking all around, the compartment for the subwoofer was pushed open - and that is all I can see.
Took me a day to realize the multicontour seats will no longer adjust - but they never lost pressure. So I don't think it was internal to either seat. The pump runs continuously in the back compartment (I unplugged it to keep it from burning out) and the seats no longer adjust.
Really clueless on this one - any one experience a similar issue at any time? Only thing I could imagine is a blown line - but they are all still connected just fine to the pump.

Sounds like either one of the connectors failed and the line blew off, or the pressure tank split if there is one (i'm picturing the PSE system on a 215/220, not 100% familiar with yours, but same concept)
We don't see that happen, so i'd be curious as to what you find when you pull it apart.

Finally got around to getting this fixed - it was the pressure reservoir that stores the air for the multi-contour seats in the rear driver side compartment behind the back seats somewhere. It ruptured and caused the loud pop / explosion sound.
Unexpectedly covered under warranty. Not sure what caused the rupture, but it was definitely a jarring experience.
