Wife and I took Mikes advice and bought a house before a luxury car. Figured instead of pulling a Dave, we would do it right. So I sold the car to get the house. Portland is insane for house at the moment. It is only going up. We have been repairing our credit for a year now and its good enough for an FHA loan. We would like to get a conventional one, but they are asking 20%-30%., which we don't have.

Well some guy Benz55'd my new C Class so now it's at the shop getting some serious ***-end surgery. But I do have a *****in' Lincoln MKZ rental car so I'm pretty much living the dream. Congrats on the house.

Good audio and comfortable seats. Otherwise a ****-box. Terrible execution of a "luxury" car.

No matter how many people were on Team Russia, I highly doubt that any of them had the ***** to purchase that wreck with the way the repairs were completed.

I know that he's looking to sell his wrecked parts () that would be better served in the bottom of a landfill, but I don't think that he's ever given any confirmation that he actually sold his "Cedes".

It likely means that there was some blood in the cabin from the accident. The damage does not appear severe enough to have been part of a deadly accident.

If I were a gambling man, I certainly wouldn't make that bet. That car is at the mileage and age where they typically become problem children. And that can be exasperated by having no service history and being in a major wreck.

You made the right choice to dump that thing.

If you think a used MB is an expensive proposition, wait until you see what the operating costs look like on a house! Insurance, property taxes and maintenance can eat you alive and in some areas are higher than rent alone, not to mention mortgage payments.

I did buy it to fulfill my self grandiosity. Thats how I was able to notice that hunger in the buyer. Seemed like I saw it in every person who came to view the car. When I filled my need, I noticed that I was living like ghetto new money. Flashy car and Rented house. Felt like a lie. I hadn't earned the privilege to fully enjoy this art! Not without a mortgage, 401k + Roth IRAs being fully funded, and my non tuition debts being paid(tuition is 13k left).

I paid the debts, getting the house(with homeowners insurance :P ), fully funding immediate retirement accounts, Then i'll look a That beautiful 2013 W221 w/ fridge.

I was going to put the fridge on Ebay, but my wife wont let me get rid of it. She insists I keep it and install it into the 2013 S600/S63/S65 she wants me to buy next, and its Not going to be black. Thanks to Dave, every time I see a Black S it reminds me of the Taxis in London.

But I am still selling the trunk, steering wheel. I'm putting them on craigslist and ebay today.

Its because of everyone here that I now have car insurance, about to get the first house of beyond my dreams, and have an even deeper love for Mercedes. Im so glad this all happened, and I am able to share it with like-minded car lovers.

Here is the house. It has a rain collection irrigation system on the side of the house, aswell as a new stove installed in 2009. House was built in 1999. One owner, no Salvage.

It amazes me how different parts of the country have different credit criteria. 3.25% rate in the NYC tri-state area is what you would be offered with excellent credit for 15 year fixed

30 year fixed would be from 3.95% to 4.35% with excellent credit.

Excellent credit would be 720 or better out here. I suspect it's the same country wide.

How much does a house like that go for in your area and how much did you have to put down?

no solely based on credit. **** I was in the 800's and have 3.49. with 50% down...

640s with 3.5% down on a 30 year FHA. House price is 333k with seller paying all closing costs. There must be other criteria in play.

Currently infusing 10%/paycheck into my 401A and 4% into my 401B. Wife is putting 8% into 401A - Our Employer matches 3% + $50.

We are both opening Roth IRAs after tax season. but will only be able to fill them to 50%($2250)/year.
