FS: Fabtech 3" Aluminum Intake System
Selling Fabtech 3" aluminum intake system coated in gloss black high-temp coating. Removed from my E55 with 82mm MB S550 throttle body. Buyer will need to purchase a silicone coupler and clamps to bolt inlet to either stock or 82mm throttle body and new Spectre or other cone filters. I added a fitting to the driver's side intake hose to allow the stock PCV hose to be connected to the system. I also dremeled off some rough weld spots from the inlet and reinforced the seams with JB Weld when I received it. The inside of the inlet is now very smooth. See pictures below, price is $475 shipped to continental U.S. buyer only. This setup cost over $700 to my door.

I did not know that. If I had the extra cash I would buy it from you. Why are you selling it? How much of a difference did you notice over the stock intake?

I'll drop the price to $385 shipped in CONTUS. You'll definitely notice a difference, but I didn't dyno before and after so can't give any specific numbers. The supercharger whine will be louder and it just looks plain bad ***. I'm selling because I need to get my car SMOG checked in California and swapping intakes is a pain, plus I'm selling my car soon.

Not a terrible deal as it includes the 82mm TB housing.

For an 82mm TB, you'll need a 3.5" straight coupler:

For stock 78mm TB, you can try cutting down a 3" to 3.5" coupler:

The Spectre cone filter number is 889832. Replacement filters are available from the following sites:

The FTP is a copy of the needswing unit (which I have), the 3" is Only good to around 490/495 whp.. Ask me how I know, well I was doing a custom dyno tune with Jerry and we found this out. Pulled the filters and I gained 18 whp on the first and 16 on the subsequent pull.. I went back to Needswing and they made me a custom 5" system that breaths much better. This is the one they sell today.. So you need to determine where your whp is and go from there, nobody likes to leave power on the table.. Good luck..

Factory box does quite well actually. Supports into 500+ whp, there have been Several people who have run into the 10's using the stock airbox. Sound is better with these kits and they look bad*ss.. You just don't gain much for the price however, just my 02. Good luck..

reach out to Shardul he has a dynamite set up (it isn't cheap). Looks factory but removes a major restriction. For those who run it swear by it.
i would question the unit in question being the sole reason for not getting over 500 hp.
phil from VRP has a very high Ho E55 and runs the set up.
