FIRE in engine bay and now blower motor doesnt work PLEASE HELP!
YOUR HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED.
To make a long story short, I ran seafoam in my w203 to clean carbon, put it in brake booster line. Everything was fine, but I revved alot, and flooded engine.
In order to get gas out of cylinders, based on a tip from a friend, I took out spark plugs and revved engine, thinking that would get rid of extra gas.
TO MY HUGE SURPRISE FLAMES SHOT OUT OF CYLINDERS! Very scared, I put back in plugs, and car started fine.
Later I discovered that the BLOWER MOTOR on heat/AC did not work. My guess is that the fire melted some connection but nothing is visibly burned.
I do not even know where to start. Any suggestions about sensors or wires that may have burned up. The flames came directly out of cylinder holes, so that is the area I suspect damage occurred.
I feel miserable and would appreciate any tips before I go to a mechanic and get ripped off.
IS THERE A WIRE OR SENSOR IN THAT AREA THAT CONTROLS BLOWER MOTOR?
PLEASE PLEASE HELP
Will keep you all posted of any other potential disaster caused by fire. Happy to elaborate on the circumstances of fire. Officially feel like Al Bundy in terms of mechanical abilities ..
so my logical was correct- how could there be flames without the plugs?
car started good today, so I think I evap the gas. Will keep you all posted

Wouldn't pouring into the brake booster vacuum line just suck it
into the crankcase? I mean where does that hose come off of?
The head? Or somewhere else. Not the intake or does it?

:r olf:

OH, for this I can't wait!!!!

PS. Carbon build up isn't as much of a problem with the M111.
Seafoam is absolutely necessary for the 1.8L.
Seriously though, all DIY's are good! Write it up!
