Headlights connectors
Hi, I have 2003 (w209) CLK320 and got a great deal on xenon HID Headlights but just realized these are post facelift 2007-2009 version A209-820-1961 and have two connectors per light, 4 pin and 5 pin. My car uses only one 5 pin connector.
Does anyone have any idea if there is a way to use these in my car? Using some splitter or fabricating extra connectors?
Thanks

Yep you will only use one connector.
Our clk came with halogens as stock so we only had the one connector perheadlight.
You will notice on the headlight there are two adjustment knobs in the center of your picture. The middle left one usually has a silver piece of plastic covering it. But you will have to adjust the lights manually to get them setup to where you need them since we don't have the wiring harness for the motors.
Just make sure you set up Xenon=Present if you are replacing from stock halogens or they will flicker until it's set properly.

Thanks for all the info, awesome to have such knowledgeable members willing to help others! I got to get them connected and verify they work before attempting the installation.
I understand I will have to remove the whole front bumper?
Thanks

Yes, the bumper must be removed, or at least dropped. It covers the lower bolts for the headlights, but also the bumper attaches tot he side of the headlights. It's not a difficult job, and much easier with the front axle lifted.

I finally found time to test the lights. Here are the results. The parking lights and high beams work fine. The turn signals do not and same goes for the low beams. Both lights have two ballasts and light bulbs are there. As both lights do not work I assume its wiring or perhaps car settings. I also get these errors show up on the console: Low beam left, Low beam right.
My car manufacturing date is 6/2002 so its the very first 2003 w209. Here is the existing wiring:
Driver side
pin 1 empty
pin 2 brown
pin 3 white / black
pin 4 yellow / black
pin 5 gray / black
There is also black / white plus brown ground connected to separate turn signal connector.
Passenger side
pin 1 empty
pin 2 brown
pin 3 white
pin 4 yellow
pin 5 gray / red
There is also black / green plus brown ground connected to separate turn signal connector.
Driver site connector
passenger side connector

Pin 1 = Turn Signal*
Pin 2 = Ground
Pin 3 = High Beam
Pin 4 = Low Beam
Pin 5 = Park Light
*Turn Signal: I am not sure why in earlier models they used the pigtail for the turn signal bulb. My C240 had this, too, and when I replaced the headlights with the "facelift" style, I had to move the black/white wire from the separate pigtail into the main connector on pin 1.

Thank! So I would need to move the turn signal wire in to the plug and most likely get upgraded plugs.
Still issue with low beans, do not turn on at all (no flickering) and I get 'Low beam left', 'Low beam right' errors showing up on the console. Not sure if this is due to some issue with the lights or if I need to reprogram Xenon=Present to activate these.
