Wheel repair
Does this style of wheel have a name? I'm considering replacing two of them that have become a little dinged up or possibly repairing them if possible. The damage is purely cosmetic.

get your self a can of silver paint, some 3x5 cards, some sandpaper and have at it. Either they will look great or you can have them repaired/replaced if you dont like how it turns out.

It's generally called a 5-spoke wheel.
MB offered different sizes and widths. So, you need to know if it's front(17x7-1/2) or rear(17x8-1/2) wheel.
Type:C230 (Sdn) 17x7-1/2 (5 spoke, front)
Type:C230 (Sdn) 17x8-1/2 (5 spoke, rear)
Make sure you get a 17" wheel, if you have 17" tires.
On ebay, enter your car's make, model, and year for automotive wheels:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/Wheels/43953/i.html?&_nkw=wheel
Make sure the rim's size (17") is what you want in the listing.
Or, do a search on ebay for:
C230 5-spoke wheel
Link:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...+5-spoke+wheel
Also, you can check the used parts places near you and in the US.
http://car-part.com/
Pretty much, every place will ship. But, you won't get any pictures before you get the item.
Choose:
Year: 2006
Make/Model: MB C-Class
Part: Wheel (display with image)
My guess is that you want a wheel with the MB part number: 2094010502
So, google will show you some options
https://www.google.com/search?q=2094010502
Such as, it seems like a company sells a refurbished rim on Amazon for ~$255.

When I drove a Porsche we had Phone-dials etc. Just wondered if this wheel had a name. It's my favorite style on these cars for sure. I haven't even seen an aftermarket wheel I like better.
I will need to replace at least two. One front one back. One has a pretty nasty ding on the edge of the rim from a road-hazard maybe. But I might just replace the whole set and then do something stylish with these. Have them painted white to match the car of something. If I can get the ding repaired.
I am really pleased with these Toyo tires, but now that I know about the relationship between MB and Dunlop thanks to a book I'm reading, (Fastest on earth) I think next time I will go with the Dunlops.

They don't look too bad actually. You should've seen my rims...
The ding can be JB-welded and/or filled with body filler and spot-painted. (a good guide: http://www.bmwtips.com/tipsntricks/w...uff-repair.htm)

It's pretty easy to do yourself. I did mine and they were much worse than yours.
Make sure you get good quality paint and don't forget the clear coat. Took about 30-45 min per wheel.

I used Wurth paint as it's an exact match for the factory finish. Here is a link to where I found it, and don't forget to order the clear at the same time. One can will do two complete wheels.

Thanks
I read about it but some say match is not that good.
(Guess it's not an issue if repainting the 4 whole rims)
Did you have a chance compare to the OEM color?

Did some checking around on replacements. $486ea and $513ea on front and rear respectively from the dealership. $175 and $229 on refurbished from a tire store.
I might give the Bondo and rattle-can thing a try. Still thinking about it.
Toyo Proxus +4 tires lasted for 30Kmi. on the rears. Fronts still look good.

Apparently there were three different shades of silver used on these wheels. Mine are Sterling Silver according to the dealership. Light Polished Silver is another, the third escapes me. That could account for the discrepancy in color.
