New Custom Exhaust for G500

I just picked up a G500 and I after starting it for the first time, I knew I needed to open up the breathing with the exhaust. I got under the truck and noticed it was running dual exhaust with an third exhaust crossing over exiting out the drivers side.

I studied all of the exhaust designs and I decided to go with Magnaflow 14x9x4 oval. They were $75 a piece, and they I searched on eBay and found the perfect set of AMG tips for $250. Finally I have a shop here in North Atlanta that custom fabs exhaust and here are the results. I am very happy with the sound and the looks. Not bad for $600.

2002 G500
I just got what looks like the same year G about 2 weeks ago too, and was thinking of doing the same exact thing, but wasn't sure what options to go with. This looks great to me, especially for the cost. The video sounds like its not too loud or obnoxious but its always hard to tell through a video. How it sound just at idle, a lot louder, or barely noticeable? low speed vs high?

Also are those 20 inch wheels you put on or did they come with it? I'm about to get some of those in 20 just wanted to see if this is what the end result looks like

After I got it installed, I loved it. It was the perfect sound. Not too loud and not too quiet. My wife and I went to dinner and I asked it if she felt it was too loud and she said it was perfect (and she drives the M4)

The 20s that are on there are perfect. I am very happy with them. Perfect stance for our Gelandewagen

hi can you please post another video of how it sounds and drives? i got the same exact exhaust on my 2002, just without the tips. and it sounds crazy loud and i didn't expect it. its crazy loud especially when cruising at 20mph. maybe, its because of having no tips. but all i wanted was the quiet deep sound of a g63

i think i will sell these magnaflows and buy the 24" long dual out magnaflows and connect the AMG tips to them. i think it will give more of the g63 sound, quiet and deep. replicating the original g63 exhaust, but this is the inside of an original g63 exhaust...(chambered)

these magnaflows 13216 have no type of insulation inside them. if you tap the muffler with a hammer or something, it will be obvious. other magnaflows have a lot of packing inside them, giving them that quiet deep sound, i suppose.

Hi,

is this the inside of a g63 exhaust with the 5.5-litreV8 biturbo engine ?

I picked up my new G63 AMG 1 week ago. I want to make it louder. I searched the whole Internet for pictures from inside the exhaust.

My good friend is a good welder, we want to open the exhaust and modify

best regards

Would you happen to have the part number to the 24" dual out magnaflows?
I've been thinking of doing this upgrade to my 02 G500.

Thanks
David

Those are 20's off of a G63 correct? Are there any problems with fit or rubbing? Are they a straight bolt on? I have a 2005 G500 and I'd like to put a set of 20 inch G63 wheels on it. Thanks

I put a set of wheels and tires off of a G63 on my 2000. They go right on with no problem and look spectacular!

I purchased them from someone who took them off an AMG. They are not just tips but mufflers and pipes.
