Where is my lug key? (GLE63)

Hey Gents,

I cant find the lug for my special lugs on a gle63.

I had the truck at a mechanic and they couldnt find it. So I brought it to Benz and they said they would swap my wheels and charge me for a replacement lug since I told them I needed one since it was missing.

When I picked up the truck, they didnt charge me for a key and said it was in the truck. I went and looked again and cant find it.

I pulled out my spare and all equipment. I took the panels off in the rear. Its not in the glove box or any where I know to look.

Any ideas?

Mine came in the glove box - It was in a black/gray case that the locking nuts came in and the ones they replaced where in this box along with the lug lock key.

If you have locking lugs - yes, the "box" can be in glove box - search the top shelf which is deep and the box can get "lost" up there.

On delivery - thaty box is "supposed" to be moved to the spare area in the trunk - there is a molded outline for it in the lower right corner in the spare area.

Please understand this is for the ONE "locking" lug on each wheel - again ONE each wheel - the other lugs ALL use standard socket.

For this GLE and some Mercedes with 20+ inch rims have 20 lugs that look like this ...

... and need a lug adapter like this?

Yep, it is straight missing. Anyone know where I can find a replacement (besides the stealer)?

What Kev is saying - if your "all lugs" all look that rounded/point look - standard socket applies.

If you have ONLY one locking lug each wheel - YES you will have to get replacement "speciasl" socket from the dealer - they use a "kit" to fit/identify the special locking lug (one each wheel - those 4 lugs will be same pattern) - and use that code from the service kit to order you replacement.
