Guys, I have a 2008 C63 and today I accidentally went over the curb coming out of the driveway and it completely cracked the driver side bottom of my front bumper... I need a replacement in white ASAP because I have a few potential buyers for the car, just my luck, Im panicking. Can someone point me in the right direction to get a replacement asap that wont cost me an arm and a leg???

Dang. Sorry man. You could try to find a white bumper on ebay? How bad is the crack? You could always get a quick job done at a body shop.

Its pretty bad man, i dont think its repairable, bottom driver side is completely messed up.... I found a bumper for $600 on ebay, its oem refurbished I think, how much you think a paint job is gonna be?

Do an online junkyard search. You might get lucky and find one nearby. Shipping on a bumper isn't cheap.

And anyone know about how much average its going to be for labor cost to swap bumpers? Im thinking around $100 tops?

Ugh dude that sucks.

Only thing I could think of is somehow gluing that long sliced piece back together but it looks like you're missing a chunk which idk what you could do about.

You could always try to call one of those mobile bumper repair guys that come to your house. They'd probably be able to make it like 7/10 or so.

My buddy is telling me to try and take it to a body shop first to see if they can repair it or at least make it look somewhat better before I go and buy a new bumper and get it replaced.. I told him I feel like its not salvageable at this point... Im not sure what to do, this is really irritating me to say the least.. When its all said and done if I go the new bumper route, gonna cost me over $1k, any suggestions?? smfh,,

I would talk to a body shop, you may be able to have them glue and repair and blend in the lower area for a lot less than a grand, they make special glues to repair urethane bumpers. If it was my car, I would look for a painted replacement or buy a new OEM and paint it, but since you are in a crunch and selling it, maybe a shop can do a decent repair more quickly.

Try a repair estimate first... I had that exact same break hitting a deer... but I had other damage too.

its in such a harder to see spot, you do not need perfection.

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback during this frustrating time.. After some thought, I think I am going to attempt to get the bumper fixed, what would be the average estimate for something like this to get fixed so I have an idea and I dont get ripped off? Much less than $1k..? So it needs to be glued in first, then does it need to painted in that area, blended in or something else.. ?

Daniel, have you done work with either of those mobile shops or recommend either?

Jay, I don't imagine it being more than $500 if that at all. Could even be $300 or so but it's hard to tell.

I haven't done any work with those guys, but I just did a quick yelp search and those guys seemed to have some of the better yelp reviews in the area so I'd probably give them a call and send them some pictures. Obviously they might not be open today though.

Some of those guys can perform wizardry in your driveway. The only part I'd be a little nervous about it not even the color matching, but how flat and evenly they can lay down the clear coat so it blends into the existing clear. This is us car guys being overly **** however, as I don't think 95% of the general population would notice it.

They'll most likely just go in there with some epoxy, lay down a thin bead of body filler, sand it flat, and then start the paint work.

The only objection and hurdle is that it looks like your also missing a chunk of the bumper if I'm not mistaken. Like that circle-ish piece? That might yank the price up a bit since they'll have to add some material or maybe plastic from the back side and then body fill it.

Regardless, let us know how it goes.

Yea Ive never gotten any work done at those types of "mobile" repairs for something like this, thats why im a bit skeptical, I usually just take it to a traditional body shop but then theres the possibility I have to pay a premium .. Ill just give those places a call on Monday, maybe get a feel for the kind of service they provide. And btw, I have that small chunk thats missing it just came off when I hit the curb so I guess im lucky there. Turn-around time for this repair should be same day right?

I actually used clear packaging tape a few weeks while I waited for a new bumper. It didn't look as terrible as it sounds as a quick fix...

Holy ****... That looks worse than mine... Did you just choose to replace the bumper or was that repairable? Because if that isnt repairable, Im really not sure how mine could be repairable...

I also had hood and grill damage so chose to allow insurance to fix it all for my $750 deductible...

Guys, quick update, I took the car to a reputable body shop that I always used before in the past and just spoke with the owner, he told me it's going to be $500 even to fix the damage and going to take a few days so I decided to go ahead with the repair.. $500 seemed a bit higher than what I was expecting but it's better than paying over $1K. I will update this thread with the fixed product soon, hopefully it turns out to be a good move on my part.
