I'm friends with the owner of Roc Euro. Really nice (and knowledgeable) guy putting out some good parts. Nice to see some of those parts on cars that are making waves.
If I was all about power/performance then the RS7 would be a good fit. I just cannot get over it's shape.
Wonder how long the tranny will hold up on something like that.

Sigh...MB is fortunate that the RS6 wasn't imported (or Audi are just a**holes). Many of us would have easily chosen that car over an AMG.

from what i have read, the audi ZF 8HP trans is pretty stout... total race is running close to 1000 awhp on it in stock form (not sure how long that will last), while this car is probably only around 650-680 awhp on race gas so is probably fine as bunch of guys on audizine running those power levels for years with not really any problems
and trapping 134 with only 650whp? Many e63 are at 630-640whp and only trapping about 129mph

Really is a shame the RS6 isn't here. This Audi platform does what we all what our AMG's to be able to do, they'll just never be able to or at least not this gen.

Agree with you guys on the RS6 Thing. I Almost got an RS7 but was way more and honestly like the way the merc feels. Even the 4matic feels like a rwd car. A little edgy and still gets loose. I had an S6. I loved the car ride wise but felt way to safe lol
That RS7 is moving! Im happy for them but also irritated that if I ran into one I might get worked lol
ESPECIALLY THE 60'

Maybe if we all send Audi a pretty please? Imagine how many people across all forums want an RS6.

I begged my local dealer to get me one. Told them I'd pay cash and they can sell it to me as a track only non registered vehicle and the flat out said no.

As many of you know, my E63s was totaled because an old lady didn't yield at an intersection, and I basically T-boned her going 50mph. Thankfully, we were both okay and her insurance coughed up a good amount for my car.
I was a bit frustrated with the Mercedes aftermarket/tuning community, and I even had these RADO catless downpipes to throw on the car to give it an extra umph... but those never got around to getting put on.
With those 2 factors in place, I decided to shop around for a different car and ended up landing in an RS7. I may have mentioned this before on the forums, but this car is honestly so much better in every way... except steering I'd say (and maybe the looks... that's kind of subjective though). It's just so quick off the line, the sports exhaust sounds so good, it's more comfortable, the technology and features are better, interior is light years better. The automatic transmission in it may seem like a thing of the past, but it shifts so quickly... much faster than the MCT in the Benz. If you think about it, one of the reasons this car is so quick off the line is because of the automatic transmission. These cars with the dual-clutch or multi-clutch technology have this slight delay when you just mash the pedal... my GT-R had it a little too. This car just goes when you mash the pedal, much like the E55.
Yes, we all wanted the RS6, and Audi is not bringing it here, but all you have to do is get over the "ugliness" of the RS7, and you have an amazing machine. I didn't want to do too much bragging here about the RS7 because I know how passionate people here are about their cars and how bias people can be, but this is coming from an unbias perspective... this is my first Audi and I've had 2 AMGs in the past.

Very well said! I don't mind the rear looks good lowered with wheels. The interior and tech is much better. I think they made the rear of the car so "ugly" so when they passed an amg we'd have to look at it! Hahah

efifty - I think you're relatively safe in the section (at least for now) providing unbiased opinions. Especially when a lot of us agree with you.
The other thing about Audi, they seem to hold their value. If I were to buy an RS7 that was similar to my E63 (miles, year, CPO, options) I would've had to spend $15k +/- a few on top of what I did for the E.
Good thing for owners, not so great for buyers.
Needless to say, I feel like overall the atmosphere here is that while the E63 is an amazing machine, we accept there are better alternatives as far as performance and mod-ability is concerned.
The only other thing I'll say about RS Audi's is I had an RS4 and it was hands down the most fun car I have driven in the winter. Live in Western NY, familiar with snow, and the car was an absolute blast. Wasn't the fastest though, plenty quick, but the C63 won in the performance department down in that C/bmw3/A4 realm.

Off the line theres no doubt the torque converter transmission on the RS7 can handle more torque in the lower gears, and it will win over the AMG every time.
On the highway or starting from a moving speed, usually the multi clutch are more efficient, so there is a pro/con i guess when looking at it from both angles.

I don't know why AMG/MB feel the need to say they build their own transmissions. They suck at it. The old 5 speed shifted painfully slow. The MCT is fun rowing up and down through the gears but it is dog sh*t off the line at any speed. I'd love to have a quality auto tranny in this car! I tried to get over the looks of the RS7 but I found it difficult. Then I couldn't get cooled seats with the sport seats and I found myself back in the AMG. It'll do for a bit longer but Audi and the BMW Gran Coupe are above AMG on my list now.

+4. The only reason I'm in my AMG is because Audi won't send over the RS6. That said, I am enjoying the AMG, but I'd have preferred to stay in the Audi family with the RS6.
