That's definitely a rare one, only one factory CLKBS with special paint. It helps to have connections. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I remember this car. I inquired on buying it only days after you evidently purchased it. The paint was the clincher for me. If my memory serves, wasn't it out of Tennessee at the time?
Stunning car. If I was not actually selling my own Black Series, I would happily buy this one.

If I understood the threads correctly, it was purchased by the AMG PL editor. From the GA/Southeast area.
I guess he's got connections on the inside

thanks for the reply, but really an editor in the PL.? That doesn't sound high enough up on the food change to get a custom one off color of a already rare car.

How do you know? Who are you to judge whether he's high enough or not within MBUSA and what the requirements or connections are?

I know him and he's connected at AMG. I met him in Germany when the PL had the AMG trophy race which he hosted for the US contingent back in 07.

Amazing car...but the Walmart rubber mats sorta cheapens the whole package, yes, maybe? Of course, easily and cheaply fixed by the next guy and a trip to the MB dealer for the correct rubber bits.
AMG did dozens and dozens of cars with matte paint btw...

I believe AMG began offering mango paint finishes in 2011 as an option. That may make this car the first with matte paint ever imported to the country.

10 speed bicycle
So just to add to the exclusivity of this vehicle. While I don't know the original owner or what connection he may or may not have had, anyone with enough money can have a visit to the AMG Performance studio in Affalterbach and request any modification they desire. (On one of my trips there my favorite was a beautiful 107 chassis, although under the hood was an M156 - Photos are of course verboten within the workshop)
Anyway regarding the color 044 - Magno-Allanit Grey Lacquer (spelling per VeDoc) Mercedes-AMG produced 114 vehicles in this color from 2007 - 2010. Of these 114 vehicles 19 came stateside. The very first vehicle painted in this color in the US was the one you see pictured here. It is also the ONLY 209 in this color.
Further for production year 2007 there were 3 vehicles painted this color. First was a 171, then this vehicle and lastly a 230. I cannot say for certain regarding other Matte colors.
