I would like to see that. Thumbs up for any DIY . . .
If you decide to build it by yourself provide us with some pictures . . .
PS I dont think pictures will help you in term of mesurments, It has to be totally custom built

for the measurements its ok, I dont need them,
I just want to create an idea how to build the parts
but I am not so sure it will be nice in the end because it needs 4 identical arms to connect to the 4 screws on the car roof, and it is difficult to build them DIY
in the end I would need to put this over my w211 :
PS; the child seat is DIY and it is fixed with 4 screws on the bike, it was my last project

It is challenging even with well euiped workshop if you looking for near original finish
If you need to pay for machining it might come expensive at the end . .
I dont know should I write this but . . .
Becouse situation in Albania is the same as it is in Serbia, I strongly believe it is possible to buy second hand (stolen) OEM racks from Germany or something
And maybe you can adapt roof racks from some other Mercs or some other manufacturer, reuse some parts . . .
Im out of ideas

near original finish it would be very difficult but I want to try create the brackets with stainless steel and then add aluminium bars or stainless steel bars, with screws, sure
stainless steel will be polished in the end and will be like the others chrome parts, probably

Just say'n. Then you'd have a system that fits properly and won't wreck the paint.
Granted, it doesn't have the appeal of having done it yourself but it works...
