power loss after ipe titanium exhaust install

I had a ipe titanium exhaust installed on my c63s coupe and when I picked it up there was a power loss. I have been monitoring the boost and its normal 1-2 but at wot in 3rd there in so boost? Anyone know what it could possibly be? All vacuum lines are hooked up and wiring seems to be done right.

did you have the Perf exhaust? did you check the HP gauge and see if its still hitting 503 when WOT?
if not it may have something to do with the valves. if they are not hooked up or working properly the car will go into a protection mode but will not throw any CEL.

I did have the performance exhaust that very well may be the problem. It is only making 347 hp that is how I figured out something is wrong.

Also is there a way of bypassing it? or do I just have to ghetto rig it and and clip valves in and hid them somewhere and also thanks again I was going crazy trying to figure out what was wrong

yes that seems like the issue. i had that problem when I tired a system that kept the valves open at all times. def have them check all the wires and the valves are not stuck.

Yep. its pretty cool. hit the little car icon on the center console. go to dymnamic select. and then Engine data, Car data is the other option and shows info on the suspension.

right, and its now even worse that i have a tune. However its accurate enough that when you are having issues it will not pin to the top. when i had my exhaust issue it would go no farther then 350.

plus passengers still love it

Interesting that it read lower. I had figured it was just a function of throttle position / boost level / rpm. It must know if there is a fault.

If you are not getting any boost on the boost gauge you won't get more than about 300-350 HP.
watch them as they will tell you what is going on.

When I got home yesterday I removed valve actuators from my old amg performance exhaust and just clipped them in and zip tied them under the car just to check and see if it would fix the problem and sure enough 503 on the first hit. Thank You bgm130.

Just added some pics of the exhaust if anyone is curious about ipe product. They sound great but they are a little quiet. I recommend to anyone who plans on getting downpipes.

I've had a similar problem.

The problem is wiring. There are connectors for the valves at the muffler. If they are unhooked or broken, it will only deliver around 320-340bhp.

Go to a dealer, let them replace the connector and it will be at stock bhp without an issue.

Great news. Glad i could help and it worked out for you. It crazy that the car goes into protection mode without and other hints. I could not figure it out at first and brought mine to a dealer who told me. there are trouble codes that pop up when you scan it.

yes the cat backs only make the car so loud. Down pipes with the performance exhaust are a whole new monster. i was thinking about it but after driving one i did not want to be so loud in my daily. maybe once i get a second car i will do that and some turbo work

The IPE exhaust when the valves are closed is quieter then when the car was stock and I wish I would have made a post about it a lot sooner I have been going crazy for 3 weeks now! lol

yes the previous IPE exhaust on the W204 was the same also. Closed valve the exhaust is suddenly like a midas muffler

I removed the resonance chambers from the muffler and had the decatted downpipes installed from Supersprint in combination with an ECU tune.

Running at 611bhp and 847nM according to dyno.

They made a movie on my car where they tuned it (stock values from their website but running higher hp according to dyno)

Better than a whole exhaust system for sure. Sounds like an absolute monster.

So I finally got all of my issues resolved with the exhaust issues I was having. I don't know how to tag people but big thank you to the guys at awe tuning. The sent me some valve motor simulators they carry. My car is back to full power without any rigging involved. I am attaching some pictures of the simulators.

I was at Cars & Coffee in Belgium and a lot of people and almost all the AMG owners came up to me including a guy with a GT S running full akra and he was like "dude, what the hell is under that thing"

Well euhm... the performance exhaust from Mercedes.
