Houston, Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has landed.
Sorry for the late update, but I was way too tired after getting home yesterday. Without further delay here is my new (to me) 2014 E550 that I got at Rallye Motors on Long Island.
It was an awesome ride home yesterday with my son from New York. What a difference from an Elantra with 198,000 miles on it. I know you cannot compare a Mercedes with a Hyundai, about the only thing they have in common are 4 wheels and even that is a stretch. I thought reading the owner's manual cover to cover would give me everything I need to know but I have a few questions that I will post under another topic. For now I posted photos using my iPhone. Once I get my DSLR out and find a suitable place to do a photo shoot I will take some amazing photos. I am still in shock that this beauty is in my garage.

Nice. What wheels are those? Did you get the AMG wheel package? What's your car's build date?
I have seen at least two different styles of wheels [painted alloy and machined and gunmetal] on these cars (Sport model) and have been trying to figure out the rhyme or reason...wondering if build date has something to do with it. Even my SA doesn't know...

Those are the standard 18" AMG wheels that come on an E550, the build date was 05/06/2014. I did see an E550 on Cars.com that had a dark grey or gunmetal finish on them and haven't seen it on another car since.
550 AMG wheel
Sweet. Love these 550's. Congrats. I have the same wheels and it was standard I do believe. It is different from the 350 wheel that has an additional outline at each spoke.

Oh interesting...I saw those same wheels at the dealership this week, on various E350's sedans and wagons too, and didn't know/think were the AMG wheels since they don't have the engraving/stamp (or at least I could make it out).

Funny you mention the gunmetal grey wheels and today at work I pass a 2014 E350 with these rims
That is the grey version of my rims.
Sure sucks to be you, NOT! If I'm seeing a dealer nameplate on the trunk lid, a hairdryer, and monofilament fishing line would come in handy.
I asked the dealer to remove all such stuff, before giving me the vehicle. Before he said something, I told him, I'm going to debadge, so, you guys know how to remove your stuff, better than me.
He was all fine with it though.
It was on my "to do list" of dealer things but I got so fixated on other things I totally forgot. My nephew runs a body shop and I can bring it to him to get that badge off. Will probably have him do it when I install the trunk spoiler.
Are you sure? Those don't look like your wheels (794). They actually look more like the gunmetal version of mine (791).
So I checked my build sheet and I do have the 794 AMG Rims. So here are the two rims side by side
Mine:
Grey ones on the 2014 E350 at work today:
On mine, the flat area that faces you is silver while everything else is grey. On this particular E350 the entire rim is one solid grey color. Usually I see the rims like mine on the E350's.
In the 2014 E Class sales brochure (US Model) it only lists one style of 18" AMG rim
So I am confused tresean1, post a pic of your 791 Rims
Nevermind. You are right, I stand corrected. I guess that's what I get for trying to multitask & view this small stuff on my phone. LOL.
I blew this pic up, then went back and looked at my wheels. I am so glad my car came with the 791 wheels, as I like them so much better than the 794 Style...yeah I know, I am in the minority.
