How adjust NAV system volume w/o affecting sound system?
Today I was playing a CD disc at a fairly high volume AND simultaneously using the Navigation system including route directions.
When I used voice commands to enter my destination, the Comand system smartly muted the sound systme while accepting my voice inputs and providing audio directions for the next entry, and it provided the audio instructions for each destination entry step at a very appropriate volume that I had no trouble hearing.
However, once it transitioned to turn by turn route directions, it would properly suspend the CD disc sound each time it gave an instruction to turn, etc, but it delivered its directions in a rather low volume voice.
How do I adjust the volume level for the Navigation turn by turn instructions separately from the sound system?
I suspect of course that the answer is SOMEWHERE within the three manuals that came with the car, which I read somewhat quickly weeks ago from cover to cover, but I can't remember encountering this in the manuals, and I figure asking you guys who have been using the Nav system for years is going to get me an answer a lot faster than reviewing the several hundred pages again looking for an answer that may or may not be in there!

When the NAV voice is speaking, hit the volume up/down buttons on the steering wheel. That changes only the NAV voice volume. You can get the NAV voice to speak at will by hitting the RPT option on the NAV screen, then repeat the above.
Of course, that's all available via a search here or in the Google Machine, but you knew that would be the case and like to get little personalized answers to everything just for you.

Big bucks go into writing those manuals and you paid for them so take some time. They usually have the answers to the basics.

Yeah, you are right, Alex. I did read the entire set a few eeks ago, right after buying the car, but could not recall if or where the NAV volume control was discussed.
Anyway, today I took Blkrokt's instructions and tried them, and they worked. I cranked the NAV volume a lot! Next time I use it, I'll probbaly jump right out of the seat when it speaks!

To turn it down, do the same thing but with the "Volume Down" button.
There, I just saved the forum from your next thread.

Blkrokt, you are soooo kind, sensitive, and helpful - always thinking of what's good for the forum! If you keep this up, you'll ruin your hard won reputation as a hardxxx!

That resolves my long-standing hassle of waiting for Navigation to speak and then trying to be quick enough to adjust the volume before she stops talking. . . a real pain when the volume is almost turned off. Thank you!!
Edit: I thought I'd read the manuals from cover to cover, but just discovered that this one really is in the Comand manual.
Setting the volume manually
Adjust the volume using the control
knob during a navigation announcement.
or
Select RPT on the map display when the
menu is shown, and set the volume with the
control knob.
