Just buy two new ones - or are you trying to identify the color temp? There will likely be a color variation between the old bulb and the new bulb because of age though, so replacing both regardless is something you should consider.
Thanks everyone. I'm going to just buy 2 bulbs then. I'll be buying cheapies though for now. Spending my money on the new headbolts instead. I can deal with bad headlights over bad headbolts.
Correct D1S....FYI your pic is the ballast, best to remove the bulb and double check the Kelvin temp.
No, those are not the ballasts...the ballasts are mounted on the bottom of the headlight assembly. that pic is of the actual bulb....D1S/C/R bulbs have their ignitors integrated into the bulb itself, so if it is the silver box you are referring to then that is the ignitor.
and since you said you are in North Georgia why dont you give HIDLIGHTSUSA in Lawrenceville a call...ask for Jennifer and tell her JP Taylor with the Governor told you to call(or you can just go by and see her at their store). They sell GP Thunder equipment which is Korean made, not Chinese, and is GREAT quality stuff.
you could also go by or call the Retrofit Source (TRS) downtown atlanta and pick up a set of their Morimoto D1S bulbs...top quality as well.
I would go with either a 5000k or 5500k as the 6000k units produce a good bit of blue and unless you have really reworked your eyebrow lights the 6000k headlights will REALLY clash with the 4800k-ish eyebrows.
