What do you guys use for keeping brake dust off? I use Eagle One A2Z All Wheel & Tire Cleaner, and it works fairly well as a cleaner but I am looking for suggestions on what products I could use as a brake dust repellent to keep the brake dust off for a longer period of time. I end up using about half a bottle of the Eagle One product for a single wash which is ridiculous!
I tried ArmorAll Brake Dust Repellent and it was a mistake! Never again... left white spots on my black wheels and was a pain to get off. This product would work well for those who do not have the black wheels since the spots will be nearly invisible and much harder to see.
I know the Porterfield brake pads were suggested by a few users so I might do that when my pads need to be replaced but any suggestions for products I can use right now while I wait for that to happen will be great.
I use gtechniq c5 wheel armour (2xcoats) followed by a coat of fk1000p high temp wax to add a little more durability. Then I only have to use regular car shampoo and a mitt to clean the wheels.
The issue is that the standard brake pads create so much brake dust. They never stay clean for long. The standard pads only last me 10-12k miles at best so I'm waiting on my order from porterfield.
I ceramic coated my wheels, I don't notice that they are that much easier to clean, still get plenty of brake dust, and the ceramic coating will probably wear of within several months.
I have Ceramic Pro on my wheels, and they are definitely easier to clean. I even use the waterless sprays to clean them, and dust comes right off. The problem remains that the pads just produce so much dust that the wheels get dirty in a few days anyway.

Odd... I have the black wheels and LOVE the ArmorAll Brake Dust Repellent. I use them on all the cars now. The white spots are either 1) you sprayed over water spots or didn't wipe down the wheels prior to spraying or 2) you oversprayed. It does look white immediately after spraying but it goes away after it dries. You know it works when you wet the wheels and the water comes off immediately and makes it appear the wheels weren't wet at all. The brake dust washes off immediately with this. But the dust is still there.albeit much less. I'm going to put ceramic brake pads on and store the stock pads away.
