Going to do that now.]

EDIT: Is the battery in trunk? Some are telling me the connection is in the front hood passenger size.

Connection under the front hood is usable for boosting and charging of battery or disabling power cables.
Disconnect battery post from battery that's located in your trunk under floor board.
To make sure any hard faults will be reset

Always disconnect the negative side first.

I literally have no what idea at what im looking at. I built high-end computers for a living and this is just new to me (working on cars).

Is it the SOLID RED (light red?) cable coming straight down? Do i just pull it out?

Red cables are positive and black are negative.

Disconnect the black side of the battery first. Then it will be safe to touch the red side.

If the black is connected and you loosen the red, if you hit any metal body parts you will short the battery and get sparks or an explosion.

It is not in your photo. It is past the top of your photo but maybe covered by the silver metal plate on top of the battery.

I never accessed my battery but there are two terminals on every car battery. The side in your photo is the positive (red) side.

So I think i may have found the culprit, This was fuse 414.

All the other fuses related to the audio/COMAND seemed to be fine. Getting replacement fuses tomorrow from the dealer.

That fuse has been blown big time! Normally, there's just a small break in the middle. This one, there's hardly anything left!

I would be careful.
Somethings wrong there.
Did they wire the sub to the same fuse?

I had this exhaust on my car installed (see step 12) http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/pdf/...63_exhaust.pdf

I needed the valves added and this controller box, not sure what fuse they tapped into that.

Also, not sure how to see what fuse the sub was tapped into?

If you had the sound system working before you tried this new thing with the exhaust, then I wouldn't think it would be anything to do with the sound system. Did you run wires and tap wires for this exhaust modification?

Exhaust + Sub has been working for 3 months now.

It happened after I pulled my exhaust system and there was a spark when two wires touched on the valve controller.

Great news guys!!!

I replaced the blown 414 fuse and all is well again! Speakers are working loud and clear.

I want to thank all of you guys in this thread for help.

Saved me from having to deal with MBZ trying to spend days diagnosing the issue.

after reading this, just in the future you should really learn up on things before you dive in. if you dont know to disconnect negative before you start working on the positive side of battery you really should do some reading on basic car maintenance. you can do more damage by shorting things out than if you read ahead on how to properly work on an electrical system.

just my .02 cents but i wouldn't start to learn how to work on cars on a c63s. or your new lambo that you are getting next summer. just saying. i guess who ever said it in the another thread is true. dont buy a used car from some young youtube blogger. lol

Could not agree more with this. Disconnecting the negative is basic 101 when working on electrical gremlins.

digitalnav, I'm glad you found the blown fuse but you are incredibly lucky you didn't cause serious damage to the multitude of electrical systems in this car.

Yikes. Two pages for a blow fuse.

Now maybe Autovlog could make a 17 minute video about a fuse!

I take back what I said that you could probably install the piggyback yourself. Make sure you get Dinan to do it.
