MBZ cant work on my car due to subwoofer?

They wont even take a look at my speakers not working issue due to having a subwoofer in my trunk.

I think its simply a fuse that blew when removing the exhaust valves...

Any help?

Is there 2 batteries or just 1 in the car?

Whats weird is, the mute/unmute icon doesnt even appear on the COMMAND screen anymore.

EDIT: Is there any particular fuses I should check?

No idea what a lot of these code words are such as SAM, etc lol.
Should the battery be unplugged when I pull a fuse to check if its blown?

This would be able to tell if exactly where the problem lies?

It all started when they pulled the exhaust from the car, unplugged the valve controller and a spark came out.

always start simple
unplug battery and if it fails to solve the problem start checking fuses.

the icarsoft is for future issues and resetting systems easily and finding issues.

Thanks for all the help, this is all new to me... never had to check a car fuse before haha.

how will i know if the fuse has been tripped?

Also is there a way to see if the battery is low voltage and thats causing the issue?

Breakers trip (house, reset), fuses blow (burn out, gap in the metal). You can see visibly if a fuse is blown when you pull it.

If you had your sub-woofer and AMP installed by a car stereo place, that would be the first place I would go back to. They can easily check and fix it for you. And if your dealer is refusing to help you because of aftermarket parts, find a new dealer. Helping you check a blown fuse should be easy for them. If the dealer gives you any problems or warranty issues in the future for any other upgrades, refresh their memory on the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act.

yeah thats what im going to do.

1) Pull battery till it resets to see if it fixes it.
2) Check to see blown fuses
3) Take out subwoofer and take back to dealer.

Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act won't apply since he has issues that can be attributed to an aftermarket subwoofer. If you go to an audio shop, install an aftermarket subwoofer, and suddenly your speakers stop working, Mercedes is not going to touch your car for that issue.

digitalnav - go to the audio shop that did your work, or completely uninstall the sub and go to a different dealer.

Having a stereo stop working when an aftermarket subwoofer is installed is a lot different than having the same stereo issue denied under warranty because of an intake.

In this case, the part that isn't working is directly tied to aftermarket modification. Directly tied to it. This would probably be one of the easiest things for a dealership to deny. You wouldn't stand a chance claiming it's a warranty issue, Magnuson-Moss or not.

If the sub isnt permanently installed..

Just remove it and disconnect it from the system then bring it into a different dealer to repair. A pain in the A** for sure, but that will get it fixed..

Assuming they don't go into the trunk and see the HI side wiring off the amp to feed the sub amp.... LOL.

But I would certain try it.

UPDATE:

Got my car back from dealer... weirdly the mute/unmute works now but still no sound through speakers.

Still think I should pull battery and do a cold reboot? Or check fuses first.

If the amplifier has separate fuses from the head unit, check the fuses. If everything is on one fuse then I would try the battery. On a side note, I would take it back to the folks who installed it in the first place and ask the WTF

There are some folks in this thread that seem to have a handle of the fuse situation in general.

You were told to try the battery disconnect. Have you done it yet?
