What type of tint did you end up getting? I did the same thing and got 20% tints all around and my tints actually look lighter than your 30%. I paid a **** ton to a 3M authorized dealer and he sold me on these 3M color stabilizer tints because he said they were non-metallic so it wouldn't interfere with the antenna on our rear windshield. When I asked him about the shade he assured me they are 20% and said because of the different particles it should take 2 weeks for it to fully settle and then will appear darker. Not sure how true this is, maybe someone could share some insight?

Was in the tent world many many years ago so something may have changed, but I doubt it. I think what he's really talking about is after two weeks you won't care as much. Any reputable tint shop will have a VLT meter. Just put it on the glass and see where you're at. Just my .02

He said I can come in and see that it is 20% using some tool he has. Maybe I might just take him up on that offer. Starting to think if I had got 5% in the back then my 20% tints would actually look darker.

do you have your windshield tinted? i have 3m color stable 35% all around and 50% color stable windshield and mine looks very close to OP window just slightly lighter as i have 35% around.

the windshield, the biggest window in the car lets in the most light. if yours is not tinted, your 20% will appear lighter.

OP: your car looks great!!!

OP car looks sweet.

its all about angle of view and lighting conditions. this is 3m color stable 35% around with 50% windshield in a few different conditions.

Time of day and lighting conditions makes a huge difference. I have ceramic tint 30% on all windows including the windshield.
