Modified stock mufflers acceleration video!
I tried to get a decent take off but it's the street so the traction was not very good but enjoy. You will have to turn your head or your mobile device as my videographer didn't film it correctly.

Took me back to the Steve McQueen movie "Bullet" when the Charger starts the chase (arguably the best in moviedom). Awesome LOL, did you set off alarms or scare any little children?

We bypassed the u bend that goes into the main chamber so that the air flow goes straight into the first chamber and out through the two pipes that exit the muffler. In a stock muffler the sound gets muffled twice. This mod will cause it to only be muffled once. The sound is not only louder it's deeper than stock (SL55ish) I wanted to increase the sound without changing the M113 tone.

its funny that you say that because after my little smoke show my wife says "what was that a baby burn out" I replied "I'm not one of those guys that will lay rubber down for 200ft" (thats a waist of tire )

Where the exhaust goes into the muffler it goes into a u bend that is inside the main muffler. We cut off the tube that sends the air to the u and welded a metal circular piece to block off the entry and the exit of the u and cut down the two extended pipes in the front chamber. The air now flows from the inlet of the muffler out the twin perforated pipes inside the main muffler. The sound is now only muffled once.

Here is the finished internal (I assume).. I got this pic from another thread. Any drone after you implemented this setup ? How Close is it or Better than a C63 sound ?

This totally makes sense. Always been hesitant to gut the muffler and dubious about pulling half the guts out in an attempt to try and avoid that raw raspy edge, but here's the solution right here. Cheers Hammer.

is it still a solid unit after all the opening, cutting and re-welding job ?

Can anyone who has done this comment on the drone at 60mph?
My car has the mufflers eliminated and it's terrible.
I am going to reinstall them, but will consider doing this mod beforehand if it does not result in a drone at highway speeds.
THANKS.

The greatest engine noise of all time, I often watch it on Youtube just to remind myself.

I've changed that set up and gone to a sound not even the C63 mufflers can produce.
