Pulled the ECU and sent out to AMR for their latest performance tune. Now I sit and wait! In the meantime made some custom vinyl AMG logos and added to engine cover. Not a huge fan of the red on the engine cover. They should have made this silver or carbon fiber.

Hey W205, its looking good. Quick question, any particular reason you went with the AMR tune and not with an OE Tune or Eurocharge tune? I cannot wait to hear your impressions on the tune. Maybe take some quick vids for us?
Any plans on suspension? I plan on going with H & R but with our current type of suspension that we have i am not sure if it will be compatible with all functions working.

I went with the AMR tune simply because they are offering the most HP of all current tunes on market. It's over 100hp with just a tune! I'm actually a little concerned about reliability with the extra power.
I do pan on doing H&R springs. They work on the c450 sedan, so don't think we will have any issues using them on our cars. All functions should still work.

I had H&R coilovers on my Audi and loved them. Maybe talk to the guys at AWE about getting them? They took awesome care of me when I had my Audi. Nothing but love for that company.

Update: I shipped out my ECU to AMR Performance for their most recent Software tune for the C43AMG. The entire experience was fantastic. There was great communication from them throughout the process and my ECU was flashed and overnighted back to me within 24 hours. I was provided a tracking number same day the ECU was flashed and it was at my door 10am next day.
Now on to the the good stuff- how does it drive? In one word WOW! The car pulls so much more, even above 50mph. There is better response from engine and the transmission shift points seem smoother to me in sport plus. I'm running with the non AMG perf exhaust and no other bolt ons...for now. This thing now feels like a proper sports coupe! I highly recommend the AMR tune for anyone looking at the various options in the marketplace.

I went with OE's stage 2 tune as it is claimed to be on par with AMR's stage 1 & 2 tunes*. Plus, with OE's holiday special, I was able to get the tune ($800) & Weistec DPs ($800) for only $100 more than I would have spent for just the tune from AMR.
Very similar power outputs in the end, but I know my turbo's will be happier without being restricted by the cats and I'll get that deeper exhaust note that I've been looking for. I love the sound of the stock exhaust but it's just slightly off of where I want it to be, and aftermarket exhausts just haven't really done it for me so far. I think DP's are going to be just perfect.
*AMR informed me that "Due to the high effeciency of our Stage 1, Stage 2 will only see an increase of 10-15hp and 15-20tq over Stage 1"

Hey Sean. I was looking at OE tune as well for my car. I am thinking of going with them as well. Not sure if different dynos are being used to get those numbers shown by each tuner or what. But i am not sure if i want to go with downpipes with the OE tune. More than likely i will go with just a tune. I have heard many good reviews about the OE tune with members with it on their 450. I cant really decide on which i will go with as i do want to achieves the most hp and torque as i plan on just doing a tune on my C43 Coupe.

I would have gone AMR if I was going tune only. They really seem to squeeze out as much HP as possible on stock downpipes.
But I wanted DP's as I know that is the only restriction in the OEM exhaust and when modding my A4's, putting in a downpipe/testpipe was one of the most noticeable power mods next to the tune. Really matures the exhaust sound and frees up the top end.
So with wanting DP's, and seeing OE's Christmas special pricing, I knew OE was the right choice for me. But both seem to be great & trustworthy companies and both make great power so it's personal preference for your circumstance at the end of the day. You can't go wrong.
The only way you can go wrong IMO is to go with Vivid Racing's piggy back tune. I mean, I get the advantage of it being a plug-in-play piggy back but I just couldn't stand paying the same money as the other companies and having just half of the gains. No way, no how!

Decided to carbon fiber wrap the chrome strips to the left and right of the emblem as well. Ive been looking for a vendor to make a carbon fiber version of this grill or the emblem and still haven't found any.

Man that looks pretty sweet!
I think I want to wrap the strips but leave the emblem.
Did you remove the strips beforehand? What product did you use? I've never wrapped anything but it's pretty easy, yes?
I want someone to make a full black grill. I love customizing stuff like this but I just can't think of a good way to paint all those little "diamonds"

I wrapped them while on the car. I don't think the strips can be removed.

Nice car! Congrats!
Could you tell me if the picture you have into the car menus of the central screen is actually a C43 pic, or a base W205 model one?
Thanks!
