GLC MY 2018 Dealer Ordering Guide - Mar 14th 2017
Attached is the very latest Dealer Ordering Guide courtesy of James Reemits of Mercedes of Rocklin (I highly recommend this dealer based near Sacramento - jreemts@mbofrocklin.com 916-275-3362 - he provides great discounts, much better than I found in the Bay Area and LA, and amazing customer service).
Major takeaways of changes from MY '17 at first glance:
All Models:
GLC43, availability July 2017
Major takeaways of changes from MY '17 at first glance:
All Models:
- [*]
- Heated rear windscreen wiper standard
- Natural Grain Brown Ash Wood trim introduced
GLC43, availability July 2017
- Performance Exhaust System available with AMG Line (note that the stock exhaust on the MY17 is fairly loud in all modes, especially downshifting in Sport Plus)
- The 0-60 time has been revised to 4.8s instead of 4.9s (looks like revised testing not improved performance over MY '17; other testers were already reporting this time)
- Smartphone integration becomes available
- Black ash now comes with an aluminum combo in the doors (really prefer my black ash in the dash and doors in my MY17)
- Carbon fiber dash also combos with alumnium

So...very interesting. I'm working on a GLC43 build right now and am being told they can add the Smartphone integration-Apple CarPlay/Android Auto (868) to it in their system. You can't combine it with the Multimedia Package (320) which is the Command Nav, Nav updates for 3 years, and touchpad. I'd be ok with not having 320 IF it comes with the Command size screen. I personally would also like to have the Black Ash trim only on the center console and not the doors. Guess I'll be asking dealer a few more questions now.
PS. Huge thanks to rihallix for posting this info!

So now I can't order Saddle Brown interior with the Sport package (AMG line) anymore? WTF that is f%&*ing stupid. Even worse than the silly requirements for the heated steering wheel. MB seems determined to not sell me a car.

Too late to get a MY '17? Or did you need Carplay too?

The lease on my M235 isn't up until towards the end of the year. Besides I wouldn't order a '17 because I can't get (apparently) the heated steering wheel with the Saddle Brown interior. Which appears corrected in the new guide. The irony! I'll just assume MB aren't total fools and I can actually get the SB interior with Sport package, they're just incompetent with their communications.

It sounds like some dealers have thought that some option combinations aren't possible, but it just takes a little joggling around with the dealer system - selecting the options in a particular order, to get the desired combination.
Saddle brown looks great - but I would avoid red seatbelts in it like in this review model:

Been looking the DOG over and over and I don't see the AMG Performance seats, but I did see them in the portal when I was making my selections. I guess this is a good indicator that it is just a "guide"? That being said I never selected the seats to confirm they are able to be added, but not sure why they would be in the configurator if they weren't?

If someone knows a knowledgeable sales person, could you confirm the interior options when getting the Sport package (AMG Line)? That brochure says you can only get Black interior if you have the AMG Line package. That can't be right.

I know what you meant now. For MY17 you can configure any color interior with the Sport package on the website. It doesn't lock any colors out.

There's really no reason to have both command/media package and carplay unless you want the larger screen for carplay.

[quote=augerpro]Maybe a screenshot will help people understand what I'm asking. AMG Line 321 is the sport package. You want that, you can have any color interior you want as long as it's black.
I really love my espresso brown leather on my 2016. Bad decision by Mercedes not to include it for AMG package.

They didn't have the build option for the coupe until late November, even though the orders could be placed in October (if I remember correctly)
