GLC43 Race Start?
Thought i would have a quick read through the owners manual whilst i wait patiently for my'43 to be built. I couldnt see anything listed in the manual with regards to Race Start. I found Race Timer, which looks to be a lap timer..
Does the GLC43 have Race Start? If so, has anyone used it?

Not sure why an SUV needs launch control. Porsche has it in the Macan and makes tons of cash marketing this gimmick to over-compensating soccer dads.
If all you care about is 0-60 or drag racing, you bought the wrong vehicle.

It's a midsize, mid trim SUV. What is launch control going to do for you? Help you impress your friends? You need more than launch control then if that's the plan.

Yeah, launch control seems cool in theory, but in practice it's rarely useable unless you like to look like an *** at stoplights and or are going to visit the strip. But then like you said there are plenty of better vehicles for the money to accomplish that....shoot, even in the MB lineup.

The mind boggles why they would include a Race Timer on a mid sized, mid trim SUV. Maybe that's there to impress friends?
It seems odd that Launch Control is included in the other AMG lines, A45, GLA45, etc..
It was merely an observation, i dont intend to race the '43, nor practice 0-60 times.

Yeah, since it's pretty much just software no reason not to, I guess. I won't miss it, but I guess there are some opportunities to use it even if you don't plan to visit the strip ever or look like an *** at stoplights.

I tried once about 5.5s.
1. Used GPS based timer (not the best way to time)
2. Cold weather
3. Winter tyres
Gotta try again since have my summer tyres back on.

Question about Launch Control on GLC43
I googled launch control because I wondered if my GLC43 had it. Apparently not. Always amazed at the judgemental bs that comes up in response to q’s like this. I had just left the Porsche Experience where I drove a Macan Turbo and experienced launch control — exhilarating. Do we need launch control? No. Do we need a small SUV with 382 HP? No. Do I need to have gas spritzed into my exhaust to make it rap-off? No. Do I love the car and congratulate myself for buying something so much fun to drive (and, useful)? Yes! So I won’t miss Launch Control. Just thought I’d ask.

What was your question?
Also, Porsche uses PDK (dual clutch) in the Macan. MB uses a torque converter in the '43s. That's why they don't offer launch control. AMG models with dual clutch transmissions do offer launch control, aka race start, as an option. That's why the '45 models have it but the '43 models do not.
Fact, launch control on a mid-sized SUV is stupid.
Fact, Porsche offers many stupid and superfluous options for all their vehicles. It's possible to option a Macan at over 2.5 times the base MSRP.
Fact, lot's of luxury car makers offer stupid options.
Fact, if you have money to burn it doesn't matter if someone else thinks your purchase is stupid. It's your $$$$!

My question was a google question which brought me to the forum. I had so much fun with Launch Control on the Porsche test track I searched to see if it was a GLC43 feature. Can’t imagine when I would ever use it. Just searched.
