Advice on choosing a c63
Hi Guys,
I'm currently on the market for a c63 and I've been looking at the following 2 cars:
https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2012-Mercedes-Benz-C63-AMG-Performance-Package-Plus-Auto-MY12/SSE-AD-5680901
And
https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2013-Mercedes-Benz-C63-AMG-Performance-Package-Plus-Auto-MY13/SSE-AD-5809006
Is their certain questions about the car that I should be asking the seller?
things to look out for?
any advice would greatly be appreciated
cheers!

Get a pre-purchase inspection from a local dealership.
But all thins being equal, I'd go with the 2013. The 2012s have that ugly yellow IC cluster display
The 2012 seller didn't even bother to wash his car before he took the pics, hah! Also the 2013 has Distronic, which is a VERY convenient feature. Especially if you are going to daily it!

If there was a drastic difference in price I'd say go for the white one but in this case the 2013 is a no brainer.
May I ask why cars in AU is so expensive? (I have relatives in Sydney and Melbourne).
I purchased my 2011 with 96,000 kms white no accidents or claims for 26000 Canadian before taxes.
For American reference that's about 20k usd at 60k miles.
Granted some shrewd negotiation was involved..and it's 1 year older than the model you're considering but still.. 40k price difference?!
Let us know how it goes! Gluck!

2013 would be my vote, year newer, same mileage and seems to be a little cleaner in pics, new brakes which is worth a bit.
It would be nice if that site posted the VIN so you could get the data card pulled to see options in the datacard thread. Seems they withhold it on that website and then make you pay for a history report to maybe get the VIN, when you click on history report it says VIN available, meaning they have it I guess and for $34 you can then see it.

And like you said, that is a rare option on these cars, rarely ever see a W204 with it.

I'm leaning more towards the 2013 model the only reason I was considering the 2012 was that it's had one owner since new whereas the 2013 is currently owned by a much younger guy it might have been thrashed more. Theirs also a 2013 which has done 30k in the same price bracket but doesn't have the performance package 🤔. The $34 report gives the vinyl, the history of the vehicle if it's been written off before and if it's currently on finance. Once I get the vin I'll post it up.
thanks for the info btw

2013 USB superior w/phone
Samig:
Hey mate, don't quote me as definitive here, but... I believe the 2013 had better integration with iPhone via the USB than 2012. For example, my 2012 does not charge the iPhone thru either the USB or the special MB dongle - I have to charge via cigarette USB, nor do I think I could play music via USB/dongle - I have to play via Bluetooth streaming. If you can visit the car, try it.
Good luck with everything!
FYI: you can search a few links, like the one below:

Built 2008 G55 & one big 80 Series LandCruiser !
The 13' looks clean...... can you get a PPI done with a good indy shop down there ? might be good peace of mind given the younger owner ...
Noted you also have a landcruiser..... these cars are the perfect compliment to having a cruiser I find... I drive an 97' 80 as my DD / expedition rig - love both for their utterly opposite qualities...
Cheers!
