2012 media interface & iPhone?

I'm trying to figure out how to play Pandora radio from my iPhone through the stereo, while charging the phone at the same time.

has anyone been able to figure this out?

Is that true on the '12s? I was told with the updated Comand on the '12s it made the media interface obsolete. Is that true?

Yes

MIP as I understand it is the iPhone hookup, aux, etc. it came standard on my '12 equipped with the S32 launch package. iPhone, aux, and USB in the armrest compartment. I don't think there is any problem charging the phone while you're steaming audio, is there?

Plug in iPhone
Play pandora on iPhone
Select "bt audio"
Music comes out

Does this not work?

Only thing I see that I cannot do is thumbs up or thumbs down from the COMAND screen.

Im just speaking for the 2012's
You can't do it. The bluetooth audio is two separate things from the ipod connector inside the center console. If you want to play pandora and charge the device at the same time. You have to get a separate iphone charger and plug it in your cigarette plug. The apple adapter is just that...to play music from your apple devices hard drive. I know it is not as good as BMW's. But MB is always trying to be the first so they get the bulk of mess up configurations.

They want to be as user friendly to all phone/mp3 devices and it is more a problem than a smooth transition. Just like the AUX video capability. They had to have a separate mini plug.... why not just port that to the apple plug so it can charge at the same time but no can do. They want all devices to be able to use the AUX Video plug.
